About Me

Born and raised in the burbs of RVA. I attended art school at VCU-what a blast! (Am I being sarcastic? I'm not really sure...even if you like what you're studying, school will always be crazy.)
Graduated May 07 from Johns Hopkins Medicine with a Masters in Medical and Biological Illustration. Did my thesis on a birth defect called Limb Body Wall Complex. Message me if you've got more questions. And yes, I have drawn dead people among a plethora of other infinitely more interesting things. And no, its not gross. I feel honored to have learned so much from an individual.
I'm currently working in multiple areas-- teaching as an adjunct professor at VCU (one night class for spring), working with Amicus Visual Solutions creating medical demonstrative evidence for court cases (for improved understanding of injuries and medical procedures), and also freelancing like crazy-- have work on 3 textbooks running, and I'm doing some marketing/design work for a Play N Trade in Carytown. I'm always looking for diverse creative opportunities. :-D
My brain very rarely shuts off--I'm one of those weirdos who can stare at a wall for hours and be completely content discovering what lies inside my own head. Adventures.
I do sincerely believe that I will always be learning somehow. I have issue with myself and with people I choose to keep close to me when there is no desire to learn, or be at least moderately observant. I heart geeks.
I have no out-right political affiliation, although I don't shy away from having opinions. I believe most people who sign up with a political party stop listening to the other side. Perspective and context are very important to me. More concerned with government than politics.
I am completely resigned to the fact that EVERYTHING is in a state of change, that words may not mean the same thing ten years from now, that the later generations will think I have lost my mind, that fashions and trends will come and go. I will most likely change my mind and consequently my person as I observe and evolve.
This page exhibits the casual me-- occasional potty mouth included.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

anyone artistic, creative, articulate, detail oriented, observant and ambitious who is not an egotistical asshole, people who can ask and answer questions.

My Blog

General Update

I want to apologize for some rather dramatic blog entries-- I'm honestly nowhere near that loose of a cannon. Most of these entries, the last one in particular (for those of you able to read it) are w...

Leaving

So, all the sudden, my problems feel trivial. I believe I was in need of the shift in perspective, even just for the little while I anticipate it to stick around. I attempt to carry a certain conditi...

The last time I made a significant relocation there was a justifiable diversion to keep my mind occupied while adjusting to the new environment. God, that sounds almost clinical. Eeek. Anyhow, school ...
