About Me

If you've made it this far then you might as well keep on reading!

I am a very passionate sports fan. Be it the Blue Jackets, Buckeyes, Steelers, or Indians, I live and die with my teams. When they win, I win. When they lose, I lose. Some find this endearing and some find it odd. Either way, it is part of what I am but it's not all that I am.

For the most part, I'm quiet, laid back, and very shy around new people. I'm working on this problem but you know what they say about teaching an old dog new tricks.

It’s been said that I work sarcasm like a painter works a brush. Sarcasm is a tool that has come naturally to me. Sometimes I use it to be funny and sometimes it’s my defense mechanism. Either way, I embrace the use of it.

My family and close friends are the most important people in the world to me and I think they all know I would take a bullet for them.

If there is anything else you want to know then you know the drill. Just drop me a line.

My Interests

There are many things I could put here but obviously sports and music are the two things that interest me the most. I love going to games or concerts. I enjoy just sitting around with friends and shooting the breeze over a pot of coffee. I find history fascinating, especially war time history. I believe history to be important because those who don’t learn from it are doomed to repeat it. I also love to umpire. I’ve been doing it off and on since I was 13 years old. I have spent time as an OHSAA umpire for baseball and softball but the majority of the work I’ve done was in little league baseball. I encourage anyone who loves the game and wants to make a positive impact on the lives of young people to get out there and do it. The world needs more good umpires.

I'd like to meet:

I'm here to meet people who have similar interests to mine. All I ask is that you be honest with me and I'll be honest with you in return.

Music:

First things first, I love many types of music and believe that all of it is best experienced LIVE! Whether it's a local cover band or a major national act, live is the way to go. I listen mostly to hard rock/metal but I sprinkle in a little of many different genres. Expand your horizons musically and you'll expand your mind.

Movies:

Movies that I love and would watch over and over.

Slapshot: Every hockey fan should worship this movie!

Miracle: The story of the 1980 USA gold medal in hockey! At first I was skeptical about Kurt Russell as Herb Brooks but he proved me wrong. He was perfect.

Saving Private Ryan: Everytime I watch this I think of what those men went through and their bravery fills me with American pride.

A Christmas Story: Yes, I occasionally watch this one even when it's not Christmas time because it is so damn funny!

The Shawshank Redemption: This movie always seems to captivate me somehow. I swear that everytime I see this movie is on TV I will stop and watch it.

Clerks: I love the work of Kevin Smith and this movie is a classic! The raw qualities make it fun to watch over and over. The everyman nature of Smith's movies make them very enjoybale to me. Almost all of his characters are people that you could actually know in real life.

Animal House: Belushi at his best! This is one of the funniest movies ever, if not the single funniest ever!

Television:

I don't watch a lot of television outside of the world of sports. The shows that I do get into the most are "House", "My Name Is Earl", and "Penn and Tellers Bullshit!". There are some other shows that I will watch if I have nothing else going on. Overall though, I don't really watch too much television.

Books:

Some of my favorites are "Working the Plate" by the late Eric Gregg, "Fatso" by Art Donovan, "Bleachers" by John Grisham, and "The Girl That Loved Tom Gordon" by Stephen King just to name a few. I have noticed that a common theme to most of the books I read is that sports seem to be involved, whether it's fiction, a biography, or an autobiography.

Heroes:

My parents for being a great influence on me and always being there for me and my siblings no matter the circumstances! I love you both of you very much and I'm glad that you are not only my parents but also my friends!
