About Me

I named my company Skerries after a passage in Neil Gaiman's Sandman - if it hadn't been for that comic I'd never have thought of getting into animation and film making.
Here's the skerry extract from "A game of you", I just looked it up:
"Sandman:
That was a beginning, Matthew. Something traveled from one state of existence to another. It came from one of the more distant skerries of dream. Let us observe the consequences. Interesting. Great winds are coming, Matthew, and darkness, and much pain. Do you see? One of the skerries is dying... I fear only grief can be the outcome.
Matthew:
So what are you going to do about it, boss?
Sandman:
Do about it? The Skerries are distant islets of dream. They live, they die. They come and go. Why should I do anything about it?"
It might be terribly pretentious, but still a fine description of what animation and storytelling of all kinds can be - we are all skerries of dream, separate islets with ideas of our own. Sometimes it's possible to visit someone else's skerries' world and inhabitants for a short while. If it's a skerry worthwhile your own private islet will never taste the same.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE SOME OF MY FILMS?
Then go to www.alphaville.se, and click films - various.
There you find "Squariebearies and the Last Night on Earth",
"Love will get me through the Week"
and also a snippet from
"Garantia & Stjärn-fallet" or in English "Garantia and the Shooting Star".
The Skerries webpage is still under construction...

My Interests

Collecting images - big virtual ones and small paper cuttings, aimless walks where I retrace my steps, pretending to be someone I'm not, idolizing, thinking about what it would be like to be inside another body, lonesome crooning, looking out windows, cursing at gravity and other laws, being embarrassed, admiring noses and contemplating a collection, watching films, discussing films, making up sentences I like, visualizing stuff, taking pictures, pretending that everything is flat, contemplating time and doubting the existence of things, swearing when people call me on the phone, making up insults, having long conversations with people that are not there, making up characters, making plans, pretending I'm good at stuff that I'm not good at and would never be bothered to learn, making up rules that I'd never follow, looking if someone will come after me.

I'd like to meet:

Gondry and Almodóvar.

As long as I have my mother there can be no other women for me.

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

It was bewildering and humbling to keep discovering how many brave things people can fail to talk themselves out of doing.

A few nights after the funeral, Stephanie called and told me about a crazy dream she'd had where all the dead people she had loved were riding bumper cars, and they were teaching Renée how to drive.

Whatever doesn't kill you makes you incredibly annoying.
