I could ramble on and on about my love for writing, but I'll save it for those who are interested in contacting me. For here and now I'll say my main interest is music!!!! I collect CDs and Vinyl in particular. I also collect DVDs! Not to sound incredibly anal, but I insist on organization. My music and movies are all saved to disc on catalog to better keep up with what I have...
I'd like to meet people who are "real." I'm not into "facades" and internet created "personas." I've also got no love for people who are "clingy." I'm a "need my space" kinda guy and I have nothing but understanding for other like minded people. I guess in a nutshell, originality is key and all "generics" fall by the wayside. Also, "ignorance" is never bliss and women who pluck out all their eyebrows just to paint new ones on really creep me out.Click here to get Codes/Tweaks for your MySpace! - Be Unique!
Ever notice how the scraggly shits who work in music stores seem to feel they have all the inside info on bands? It's as if they think that just because they SELL the music, they are obligated to know who's best. They should be told that just because they're selling this music it doesn't make them any closer to the band. That being said, I love rock, metal and many other genres. I've NO INTEREST for NU-METAL! Let's face it, NU-METAL is coporate music performed by poseurs who just happen to fit the suit a la Greg Brady's 'Johnny Bravo.' My consistent faves are Van Halen (WITH DLR of course), Motley Crue, Aerosmith (preferably the 70s era..they were more creative when they weren't "clean & sober"), Metallica (early), AC/DC (Bon Scott era) and other 80s &; 90s rock (as long as it's NOT Nu-Metal!) and of course The Beatles (I'm a writer, so John Lennon to me is the definitive wordsmith)... I'm also a sucker for 70s pop. My music collection is always expanding. Recently, I was re-introduced to Foo Fighters and have bought their entire album collection, as well have just seen them perform live in Pensacola, FL. They are now a top fave of mine.
I'm definitely into horror movies that rely more on dark images and even darker mood as opposed to gore. The original "Halloween" moved me like no other film. John Carpenter was brilliant in his direction and his use of the soundtrack was amazing. "The Amityville Horror" and things dealing with the paranormal also get my attention. I also love comedies like "Fast Times At Ridgemont High"..."Dazed &; Confused" and "Office Space." 80s teen flicks also rate high. Though I DESPISE romantic comedies and 'chick flicks'!!! Guess that means I find nothing more 'contrived' than Julia Roberts and other like minded actresses who reprise the same role in every movie just to collect a paycheck. Jesus, challenge yourself, bitches! Kevin Smith movies and any other films with great dialogue also have massive appeal! Actor Crispin Glover is a criminally underrated talent! Off the wall faves like David Lynch's "Wild At Heart" intrigue me. You really can't beat eccentric characterization, like Willem Dafoe's portrayal of Bobby Peru in this movie. Lynch is never afraid to go the extra miles to expand horizons with his direction. HIGHLY recommended! Don't forget, Porn CAN be HEALTHY! :-)
"The Office" is hands down THE BEST sitcom on television these days, followed by "Scrubs" and "My Name Is Earl." Usually, I prefer older sitcoms like "Seinfeld" and such. "Freaks &; Geeks" was a criminally underrated show a few years back. Thank God they released it on DVD! I really don't watch many of the new shows that currently pollute the airwaves. I am however, an avid viewer of Court TV shows like "Forensic Files" and "The System." I also love shows on HBO like "Autopsy," and any of the other America Undercover Documentaries.
Being an aspiring writer, I tend to gravitate more towards non-fiction writings and True Crime books in particular. It's interesting to know what goes through the minds of criminals. I recommend: "High Hopes: The Amityville Murders." It's an excellent read!
