About Me

Born and raised in Petaling Jaya, MAS, just a stone’s throw away from where Bruce Springsteen grew up, drummer/songwriter, me..myself began my musical career at the age of 15. It was during my time at a university – where i graduated with a degree in Malaysian Studies and minors in Philosophy & English – had a revelation and began to actively pursue my future as a musician. Now, over four years later, supporting two CD releases, has been receiving extraordinary publicity, including features on MTV, and is on the verge of stardom. Graciously taking the time to answer some questions for Kings of A&R, including the whole MTV experience, the kind of music that i am trying to create and what the future may hold, HaM|Z|…

Deftones – S/T. Released 5.20.03 via Maverick Records. A perennial favorite among the hard rock/alternative/nu-metal crowd, the Deftones are a legitimate act whose every release following Adrenaline has always been highly anticipated and always impressive. Now with their latest longplayer, an 11-track S/T effort, the Deftones deliver perhaps their most ambitious album to date. Musically, the new record follows in the footsteps of White Pony, offering up an exotic blend of sensual ambiance, beatific harmony and abrasive fury, with an added emphasis on “fury”. While the leap between records is not nearly as progressive as that found between Adrenaline and Around The Fur or Around The Fur and White Pony, the new record does have its moments, whether you enjoy the more cathartic release found in When Girls Telephone Boys, Good Morning Beautiful, Hexagram, Needles & Pins and Bloody Cape or if you appreciate the moody introspection instilled by such tracks as Deathblow, Battle-Axe and Anniversary Of An Uninteresting Event

Glasseater – Everything Is Beautiful When You Don’t Look Down. For Miami, Florida act Glasseater, street-cred and a grassroots upbringing has been a way of life since their origin in 1998, building up their name through performances with the likes of Green Day, A.F.I., Dillinger Escape Plan, Dashboard Confessional and many others, while releasing three albums through indie labels Ides Of March, Eulogy and Fearless. After inking with Victory Records (Taking Back Sunday) in March 2003, Glasseater teamed up with James Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, New Found Glory) to record their impressive Victory debut Everything Is Beautiful When You Don’t Look Down. Musically & vocally, the album features familiar elements readily associated with melodic punk, emo/indie, pop-punk and hardcore, bringing to mind such bands as Hot Water Music, Brand New, Face To Face, Further Seems Forever and Finch, etc., which, at first glance, appears to be just your standard, run-of-the-mill punk-rock, but in fact, is so much more, offering intelligent/creative songwriting coupled with tight musicianship and undeniable sincerity.
