About Me
We are Candy Apple Punch. We are digital. We are robot rock.
So anyway - this is all about fun music with computers, software, eletronica, techno and some rock and roll. iPods, MacBooks, Logic Pro, GarageBand, and Fender Strats. It's my little project band just doing some electronic things with 3 chord songs and such. I do not have an electronica background or anything like that at all. I just wanted to mix two of the things I do - music and tech. I've played music forever and gigged, recorded, and produced pretty much in the rawk-n-roll realm. But this Candy stuff is about as much fun as I've had playing music. Apple really opened the door to a whole new realm of creativity. Yeah - as you can see, I L-O-V-E Apple computers.
I first release Jingle Bells Techno Bells in Sept 2007. This is AKA Jingle Bells Techno. The track flew off the virtual shelves of the digital download sites. (not really) When you make your Christmas playlists this is one song you want to be sure to have on your iPod. This song can be heard and seen in many a Christmas Light Show. I've seen a few on youtube. I love that. I love Christmas.
Next, I put out a 3 song EP called Plastic Pixels in Nov 07. This features a pumpin', thumpin' version of Red River Valley and 2 original songs, which includes our theme song "You Make Me Happy". This song has proven to be CAP's signature song filled with '80's swirling synths and poppy guitar licks. The lyrics are as follows: You make me so happy. That's it. :)

Random. Yeah, the digital animated characters of mine then released a single called Random. And they sing on this one. No vocoders, but yeah, a little pitch corrector and auto-tune stuff going on for sure.
Finally, we have the release of Tinsel in Sept 09. This is a Christmas 3-song EP featuring Little Drummer Boy, We Three Kings, and Deck The Halls. These are not your grandma's versions though. As they are traditional and recognizable, they are totally Candy 'd out. I have heard the tracks described as Christmas Techno, Christmas Electronic, Christmas Electronica, Electro Christmas, Industrial Christmas Songs, and even this- Goth Christmas. Funny.
These beautiful animated characters were created by Amanda Nix. She is from Nobody Studios. She rocks! The band characters are a lot younger and prettier than I am, so that's why they exist. So are they real? Do they really play their instruments? Did they write the songs or did I? Well, that's way too philosophical for me to answer.
Ok, so that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Thanks for listening!
