Sugarshaker has certainly managed to cause a stir since she spun into the House scene not more than 2 years ago. Her love of all music, but in particular House music, inspired her to remove herself from the dance floor in order to be on the side of the decks that without a doubt, suits her best. There’s no question that she has achieved a great deal in a very short period of time and also, that this is only the beginning of her journey…Her talents were soon spotted and she was offered a set New Years Eve by promoters of one of the most successful club nights in the South West – Housework (Taunton) which was voted “Club of the month†by DJ Magazine! This NYE gig gave her the inspiration she needed to set her sights on bigger and better things. To gain exposure and experience she set up her own weekly Wednesday night event, the then successful ‘Resonance’ - a night of happy, bouncy, funky House music - aimed at relieving the dreadful midweek monotony and spreading some happiness - since then there has been no stopping her!Very early on she was spotted by Koolwaters head honcho Marc Vedo who, along with up and coming producer Codebreaker, gave her the platform she deserved to ‘do her stuff!’ She quickly earned her right to become the Koolwaters House Sessions resident, playing regularly at the Fez Club (Bristol) and also at the Bedouin Bar (London). One of the highlights of her ‘mini career’ so far has been warming up for Marc Vedo, Deepgroove and Pete Tong at the Koolwaters 5th Birthday bash in November 2005 – when DJ Mags' Terry Church commented on her being “one of the best female DJ’s he had seen playâ€.2006 is going to be Sugarshaker’s year to shine – along with her Koolwaters residency, she has been booked to play in China for a month in September; has a male counterpart for back to back sessions as ‘Beauty and the beatz’ playing at Club X – (Cardiff); will be found playing regularly at Housework (Taunton); and the icing on the cake so far this year ….. becoming a member of the Female DJs.com Directory and working with producer Codebreaker on her own tunes.Sugarshaker’s style is diverse but spinning anything dirty, chunky, big & Funky would sum up her style; given the opportunity she will always rock the Dancefloor!
