My name is Philip Wienand. I started to play acoustic and electric guitar and drumset at the age of 13, later on I started playing didgeridoo and african drums as well as singing. Some years ago I developed a passion for arabic, persian, kurdish and turkish music as well as for traditional music from the balkans and roma music, so I've started learning to play arabic percussion and odd meters. I love to play framedrums, the UDU (which is a vase with a very beautiful percussive sound) and the BaÄŸlama (Saz), which is a traditional turkish Lute.

Mein Name ist Philip Wienand. Ich begann akustische und elektrische Gitarre und Schlagzeug zu spielen als ich 13 Jahre alt war, später kamen Didgeridoo und afrikanische Trommeln und auch Gesang dazu. Vor einigen Jahren entwickelte ich eine Passion für arabische, persische, kurdische und türkische Musik, traditionelle Balkanmusik und für die Musik der Sinti und Roma. Seither lerne ich arabische Perkussion und ungerade Rhythmen. Ich liebe es, die Rahmentrommel, die Udu (eine wundervoll klingende Vase) und meine Bağlama (Saz), die traditionelle türkische Langhals-Laute zu spielen
