About Pastor Phonz:Alphonzo E. Brown, Sr. (Pastor Phonz) was born December 20, 1968 in Flint, Michigan. Keeping with the prophetic word spoken over his life before entering the earth realm, one could say without a doubt, he was born to preach the Gospel. Pastor Phonz has a deep passion for making sure that people understand the importants of a real relationship with God.Pastor Phonz has been active in ministry since the early age of five. During his late teen years, Pastor Phonz decided to pursue a career in secular music. After having moderate success as an R & B singer, the call to preach the gospel began to ring loudly in his ears again. In 1991 Pastor Phonz turned downed a very lucrative recording contract and stepped back into the yes he gave the Lord as a child to preach the word. Pastor Phonz has not looked back.Throughout the 80's & 90's Pastor Phonz was mentored and trained for destiny under the leadership of Dr. Purvis Givens who gave him his foundation in holiness. He was further mentored by another one of his Fathers in the gospel, Dr. Nathaniel J. Lewis, Sr.. It was under his leadership that Pastor Phonz was given the tools to develop into a preacher of substance. It was also under the guidance of Dr. Lewis that Pastor Phonz was mantled to lead the people of God into His presence through praise and worship. In 1997, Pastor Phonz was officially ordained an Elder in the Church Of God In Christ by the Bishop John H. Sheard in Detroit.On March 30th, 2003 at 3pm in the afternoon, Pastor Phonz along with his wife Yaushica, launched Halal Praise Ministries now known as the Praise Empowerment Center in the city Flint. The Praise Empowerment Center is known for it's vibrant praise, intense worship, and the prophetic preaching of Pastor Phonz. It is often said that Pastor Phonz is a unique ministry gift that the world needs to experience. Pastor Phonz is covered in ministry by his Father in the gospel, Bishop Alvernis L. Johnson. Pastor Phonz is the author of two books, "For My Sisters" and " My Father's Voice". He is also preparing to release his first full length worship experience. The books and the CD are scheduled for release this summer. In addition to all of this, he is pursuing a Doctorate in Theology.Pastor Phonz resides in Flint with his beautiful wife, Yaushica. He is the father to five wonderful children. Pastor Phonz also has many sons and daughters in the gospel. He lives by his favorite scripture Ephesians 3:20.
