About Me

Designer Aria Campbell-Kelly was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Montreal, QC. She has been designing and producing jewelry since the age of fourteen. Born to parents who were both Architectural designers, therefore taking a natural path in understanding things on a very visual and 3 dimensional level. After finishing her secondary studies she studied Fine Arts at Dawson College in Montreal and since has continued her studies at Concordia University in Design Art. She has always felt that learning is an ongoing experience. Aria draws inspiration from all forms of art, design and culture though a lot of her inspiration is rooted in her Architectural roots that originated from her parents. The ARIA collection started under the designers name in March of 2005. The theory behind the collection is that jewelry should be kept for an extended period of time, fashionable enough to never go completely out of style and to have an elegant permanence in a person’s wardrobe. This is why the new collection is only released once a year as opposed to with the changing seasons. The entire line is constantly designed and handmade with the notion that no two pieces should never be perfectly alike, in effect making each design a limited edition within the collection. Every piece has been designed and handcrafted in Montreal. Each year Aria participates as a professional in the annual international Swarovski Create-Your-Own-Style contest. Every year the contest piece often dictates some of the inspiration for the following collection. In 2007 she was awarded with a semi-finalist position, which placed her in the top 20 participants. The piece was named ‘Modern Mermaid’.Aria has always had a large interest in collaborating with other artists and even further beyond with individuals outside of the realm of jewelry design. Some of her collaborations include companies lead by other small and successful entrepreneurs like ‘Mindy Shear Cosmetics’ and ‘Sabrina Di Nardo Event Design’. In 2008 the “idilio” collection was released, the collection featured 10 artists currently working out of Canada spanning between Montreal and Vancouver. The theme of the collection was about creating wearable art. All of the collaborative collections carried the same ideal; creating a line of jewelry that had a new perspective on style and accessorizing women for both everyday and special occasions.
-------------------------------------------------------
The 08/09 COLLECTION was inspired by religious jewelry tradition with elements similar to a Rosary and elements from the Sea. The collection also carries a very modern context through the colors and materials such as, Swarovski Crystal Elements and laser-cut acrylics as well as resin/natural sand mix for the very realistic looking starfish. The color was based on the most originals contrast, classic black and white. Continuing on the classic theme throughout the collection for the rosary-type necklaces a pearl like bead was used. The entire look tied together with a finishing satin bow.
