K and the Boys

K and the Boys are led by the energetic, sexy, edgy, and unpredictable K. The band’s music combines pop hooks with dirty dance beats, deep funky basslines, and new wave guitars, delivered in a ferocious high-energy style drenched in sweat. K and the Boys sound like Sonic Youth meets Madonna, and get their inspiration from a late seventies and early eighties culture clash of artists ranging from Blondie, The Clash, Bowie, Bush Tetras and ESG, to Chic and Donna Summer. The band’s exciting live show, featuring K’s startling and burlesque-influenced stage performance, has garnered a significant following in 2004. K and the Boys are now well-established as one of the leading bands in the new wave of Dance/Rock acts in NYC. In 2005 K and the Boys are releasing their first EP, “Don’t Waste Time” on the band’s own Voluxuous Records. The EP was produced by the band’s guitarist Prayon and drummer Omri. Prayon has been producing Hip Hop for several years with releases on labels such as EMI, BMG, and various indies. Omri, a veteran House music producer, has enjoyed Billboard Club Chart success with productions and remixes for such Dance labels as Tommy Boy, Twisted, Jellybean and Star 69, among others. Having made their reputation in other genres, Prayon and Omri nevertheless share a passion for Rock & Roll. By joining forces with singer/songwriter K and bassist Murph, they formed the foundation to an otherwise eclectic and electrifying musical style.
