About Me

About the studio:
I am a 1200 square foot full service analog/digital recording studio in Brooklyn with a vaulted wood ceiling that extends to 17'....great drum tones! I enjoy loud and not so loud rock bands and great song writing.
Jim Bentley has worked with members of Bright Eyes, Spoon, Yo La Tengo, Sparklehorse, Lullaby for the Working Class, The Magnetic Fields, Helium, The Spinanes, and Camper Van Beethoven. Jim has also worked with the uber badass producer John Agnello. He's recorded gems for Head of Femur, Catfish Haven, LD & The New Criticism, The Dead Betties, Up the Empire, The Isotoners, The Suckers, Renminbi, Bella Noir, and Jennifer O'Connor. (Matador, Darla, Le Grand Magistery, Chainsaw, Heartcore, Red Panda, Greyday, Secretly Canadian, Cordless/Warner).
The rates are $40/hr. This includes engineer!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Bands that are ready to make a classy...sexy... record. We keep the rates low to accomplish this on the shoestring DIY budgets that most people have. This isnt like calling Studio X..booking Room A...with engineer 2. We want to make you sound good because our name is on it too...like Vidal and shit.
