Briargh was born in Erun-Dagoth's mind (the Dux Bellorum), member of Forestdome, CrystalMoors, Ancienthorn (RIP), Eldereon and other bands of the Iberian Underground Scene, in 2003. The idea was to do a solo project of dark and heathen Black Metal appart from the typical childish scene: denying interviews, live shows or any collaboration have been some of the main features of Briargh in order to remain separated from the most commercial wing of the Black Metal scene. Just music and attitude.
In 2003, Dux Bellorum records "Labaros", which was released on winter of 2007 together with "Soledad" (demo 2004). A dark and cold feeling made by mid and slow times creates an ancient atmosphere.
Still in 2003, the Dux Bellorum records "A Black Mark over the Land", which was out as a split with Tanat (another Iberian Hateful Black Metal band). The label was the German Blitzkrieg Productions. Two hundred copies were sold out in a few months. The following year, 2004, "Soledad", the third demo, was spawned, regarding the sound and style of the first demo, but with better sound.
Fatal Ecstasy Productions offered to Briargh to release his first CD. And D. Bellorum entered at his Khazad-Dûm Studios to record it the same year 2004. This year, all music were recorded, leaving the vocals to the following months. The production is very raw, in the vein of old Burzum, old Summoning and some of Satyricon and Dissection. But many problems led to Dux Bellorum to finish the collaboration with this label.
In Winter of early 2007, Blood and Soil Productions (www.bloodandsoil.cjb.net) releases 300 copies of "En el Bosque de Erudinus" which contains "Labaros" and "Soledad" demos.
At last, "Kanttrug" was unleashed in November 2007 via Draug-Dûr Productions in a limited edition, in CDr pro.
Due to all the problems with the labels, Dux Bellorum decides to stop recording more stuff of Briargh during some years.
