About Me

I'm married to my sexy man Jason. Some people know him as "J-Boogey". We have 3 little girls named Amber, Haylee, and Aimee. We are a blended family which can have it's own unique challenges at times, and as it's own rewards as well. On July 2,2008 our oldest daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and every since then I have become an advocate for JDRF and obsessed with learning everything I can about the disease and the treatment and care. Diabetes DOES NOT run in the family and we have no idea how she got it.Unlike Type 2 diabetes, her disease can not be treated by diet and exercises alone. She must endure 6 to 8 gluocose tests as well as 4 to 6 insulin SHOTS per day! Every meal has to be carefully planned and measured. All my friends will tell you that before this happened to us, I was the most laid back, un-structured parent in the world, so this has been a huge challenge getting used to it! Despite it all we are hopeful and keeping positive and are praying for a cure in her lifetime. I have learned that in 1 day your entire life can change, and GOD is good, even in the storms!
