About Me
I am an artist and began my experience at the age of 9 on stage in theatre and musical theatre and forged my relationship with dance on the streets breakdancing, popping and locking. I started my formal dance training at the age of 14 in Wilmington, De at the Anna Marie Dance Studio. I moved to Cleveland at 16 to study at the School of Cleveland Ballet and joined the company there as an apprentice the following year. I moved to New York soon after to continue my studies on full scholarship at the School of American Ballet at Juilliard, official school of the New York City Ballet, as well as open myself up to the dance world of New York in it's entirety studying with everyone from Willy Burmann to Mia Michaels, Maggie Black to Michael Owens, David Howard to Suzie Taylor, Frank Hatchet to Joe Lanteri and Chet Walker as well as studying at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance. I'm currently a principal dancer with The Forsythe Company in Germany formerly known as the Frankfurt Ballet under the direction of William Forsythe and have been for the last 10 years. I've been a full company member as a soloist and principal with the Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle, The Miami City Ballet with Edward Vilella, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens in Montreal and The Pennsylvania Ballet in Philadelphia. Through these affiliations I have had the great honor to perform on just about every major stage and theatrical venue in North, Central and South America, Europe and Asia. I co-direct my own company with former Wooster Group video designer Philip Bußmann called 2+ and have choreographed pieces for The Russian Ballet Theatre, The Pennsylvania Ballet, Festival de Dans in Cannes, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Cadance Festival Holland, Skulpturenpark in Graz and others. As a freelancer, I have performed in many galas and installations worldwide as a guest artist, most notably 'You Made Me a Monster' a performance installation in collaboration with William Forsythe which won the 2007 Bessie Award for Best Installation and New Media for it's New York premiere at the Baryshnikov Center and was performed at every major dance festival worldwide. I have also been the subject of many fine art installations including Peter Welz's "It's too fucking loud, it's too fucking fast" and "figure inscribing a circle" with exhibitions at the Neues Museum Weserburg, Bremen, the Museum für Gegenwart, Berlin, Kiasiama Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki and NEXT, Art Chicago, Chicago, USA and also in Philip Bußmann's "Video /Bilder" and "Detail" for Kunstfoyer Gallus Theater and Künstlerhaus Mousonturm respectively. I have worked as a teacher and ballet master for the works and improvisational technologies of William Forsythe with such companies and institutions as the Lyon Opera Ballet, Staatsballett München, D.A.N.C.E. in Brussels, and the dance department at Ohio State University for "Motion Bank". I am also a ballet, hip-hop and jazz teacher and have taught for various institutions including the Miami Magnet Program, professional ballet companies and various dance schools and acadamies worldwide. I am a certified Dynamic Yoga teacher studying under the guidance of Godfrey Devereux. I love literally every type of music and am an avid reader and movie watcher. I have a collection of over 3,000 CD's, 2,000 DVD's and just as many books making my apartment here in Germany one big shelf. I have a German Shepherd mix named Everest and love living in Europe with the love of my life. I just miss my friends and family from time to time.www.theforsythecompany.de,www.twopluscompany.com,www.fa
