Welcome to my music page!! My name is Clete Deschamps. My Display name is Derek and it has been for more years than I care to remember. I have come to accept it as a nickname and use it often online. About me? Not much more to say other than what is typed on various parts of this page. I retired from the Canadian Navy in 2001 after 32+ years of service. I now have an extremely satisfying job working in Children's Services here in the metro area…...I like to have fun, laugh and joke around. More importantly I like to see those around me have fun as well. If I see someone is down, I do my utmost to put a smile back on their face. Often a joke or some good-natured ribbing does the trick. That has backfired once or twice, but usually, I succeed. ................ Somewhere in one of these boxes it says I am a collector of all things. Lately I’ve taken to collecting music. I have always had hearing problems and now that my hearing is deteriorating at a steady pace I am determined to listen to as much music as I can for as long as I can. Having said that, I have managed to collect a huge number of songs, about, 5000+ and probably 300 music videos. This page of MySpace has over 8000 friends and counting. Of these, I have 10 – 12 non artist friends that I chat with and exchange comments with and there are about 250 professional singers and groups who have become stars and superstars and whose music I have always enjoyed. The remaining friends are all artists and groups in various stages of their music careers. Many just starting out and trying to make a career out of doing what they love; others have been around a while and are almost there or happy where they are. ALL of them appear dedicated to their music. Most genres of music are represented here. My hearing impairment makes it difficult to wrap my ears around Rap, Heavy Metal and some Rock songs; but I enjoy most other types of music and will continue to collect new artists. If a person or a group is here on my page it is because I have enjoyed one, if not all, of their songs on display. Offering no bias whatsoever, lol, my Top Friends will, for the most part, be artists from Eastern Canada. There is a huge amount of great talent here and our music industry is booming.
