It's funny, cuz I feel like I am a pretty interesting person, but these things make me think otherwise!! So give me a shot, okay?
About me........ I love fresh flowers and the way hot asphalt makes the air smell after a monsoon storm. I grew up in a very small town in Arizona just south of Sedona, the kind of town where it takes a villiage to raise ALL the children. But we figured out ways to get away with stuff without someone's Mom catching us and succeeded in being pretty mischievious. I graduated high school by the hair of my chiney-chin chin and decided to shoot for college.
Had a GREAT college experience in beautiful Flagstaff, AZ, home of the NAU Lumberjacks, hub for one of the country's largest interstate intersections, a major stop for Burlington Northern Sante Fe RR, Northern Arizona's ski town(yes, it snows in Arizona!!!), "Get your kicks on Route 66", and just a wicked fun college town!
Got my AA(that's Assoc. of Arts degree, not Alcoholics Annon., although, it probably wouldn't have hurt me to go to a few meetings!) and headed for the east coast. Landed in Manassass, VA, just outside of D.C., and went to the American Professional Bartending Acadamy in Arlington. Got my first real bar gig in this crazy biker bar and had the time of my life.
I loved being so close to so much of our country's history. Between D.C. itself, Baltimore to Virginia Beach; there was always something to do, day and nite. Great museums, art, and beautiful country side for those day trips; or awesome clubs and party scenes for your nite life with a REAL melting pot of cultural diversity. But the lifestyle got a little fast for me, so west-ward bound I was, REALLY west-ward; me, my little '91 Sunbird, and everything I owned. Made a pit stop in AZ for a few months but kept on going west 'till I hit the shores of Maui! Hard to believe that for someone who grew up in the desert, I am a total water baby.
At the end of Aug 2007, I left the amazing Island that I love so much to come back stateside. I stayed in the Bay Area of Richmond, CA with my number one Dick and his wonderful Moms, Cathy & Stacy. They opened their home to me and allowed me to experience one of the most amazing cities on the planet for almost a month! It is so amazing to back on the mainland. San Fransisco is phenominal and I was completely awestruck.
Now, I have come full circle (at least for a few minutes)and have returned once again to where I started, to the place that made me. I'll be enrolling back into college, a woman 10 years older than most of my classmates & hopefully at least a few years wiser!
I have had a whole lot of journey in my life and I'm not even close to nearing the end of that journey. I have been blessed with aquiring some really spectacular friends along the way, many of them are my family. Speaking of family, I am the luckiest girl in the world. I have the most supportive family anyone could ask for and they put up with a lot from me, the way that I am constantly just up and changing everything periodically. Even if they don't agree with what I am doing, they still back me up. These people that I surround my self with are the most importatnt thing in the world to me. MySpace is perfect, because now, all of those beautiful souls I have met along the way, as well as my friends and family back home, can see where I am and what I'm up to; and hopefully some new friends will take a look, take an in interest, and take a chance......on me! ALOHA!!

Children are amazing, aren't they?
That is probably one of the hardest parts about being away from home for me; watching the kids in my life grow up through pictures like these.......

I LOVE TO SUPPORT YOUNG, UPCOMING, NEW MUSIC AND ARTISTS
Currently I am in a Soul Mode: Al Greene, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson... I'm pretty much an 80's baby, so almost anything 80's, classic rock: The Doors, Zepplin, Fleetwood Mac, etc; some of the newer stuff like Velvet Revelover, 3 Doors Down, Hoobastank and Lifehouse. BEST BUBBLE BATH MUSIC EVER: VAN MORRISON!!! I really love the early 90's NIN, Temple of the Dog, STP, etc, and I am a pretty die hard Guns 'n' Roses fan. Love the old metal as well as some of the more recent; Metalica, Black Sabath, and then Tool and so on. I also love Dave Matthews, JACK JOHNSON and some older country. And of course, I LOVE standing in the Purple Rain, baby!! MOST RECENT FAVORITES: 30 Seconds to Mars (How can you not LOVE Jared Leto?? He is my newest celebrity crush, and he can sing too????) and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I love her voice, she sounds like Crissy Hines.

Movies:

Three favorite movies: Beakfast at Tiffany's,
The Breakfast Club, and Interview with a Vampire

Television:

TOTAL NEWS JUNKIE! CNN is almost always on, but if lead to temptation, I can get sucked into The Real World and CSI. Right now, I'm HOOKED on Swingtown.

The Water element's Archangel is Gabriel. The sex of this angel is unknown, some sources say 'he' and others, 'she'. Gabriel is usually clothed in blue robes with orange highlights. Gabriel is considered the angel of birth, death, and transformation. Gabriel is also the angel of the moon, women's cycles and childbirth. Gabriel is an angel of mercy and justice as well.Gems associated with the Water element are Amethyst, Pearl, Jade, Moonstone, and Sapphire. ~CURRENTLY READING:~
SO, once again, I had to take a break from my casual reading, which is still The Monkey Wrench Gang, and read a bunch of books for school. Thankfully, I got to read some great books. Here are my favs: "Geeks" by Jon Katz, "The Plague" by Albert Camus, "Fasting, Feasting" by Anita Desai, and "Civilization & It's Discontents" by Sigmund Freud. But now, I am back to Ed Abbey.........
"The Monkey Wrench Gang"
Author: Edward Abbey
copyright: 1975
"The book's four main characters are ecologically-minded misfits — a Jack Mormon river guide, a surgeon, his young assistant, and a rather eccentric Green Beret Vietnam veteran, George Hayduke. Together, though not always working as a tightly-knit team, they form the titular group dedicated to the destruction of what they see as the system that pollutes and destroys their environments, the American West. As their attacks on deserted bulldozers and trains continue, the law closes in.
The Gang sees the 'enemy' as those who would develop the American Southwest: despoiling the land, befouling the air, and destroying Nature and the sacred purity of Abbey's desert world. The greatest hatred is focused on the Glen Canyon Dam, a monolithic edifice of concrete that dams a beautiful, wild river, and which the monkeywrenchers seek to destroy. Indeed, one of the book's most memorable scenes is that of Abbey's character Seldom Seen Smith, as he kneels atop the dam praying for a "pre-cision earthquake" to remove the "temporary plug" of the Colorado River."
I am a total bookworm. Nuthin' better than curling up with a good book or a hot bath and a book. I LOVE Anne Rice. I love the way she can make the smell of gardenias in the French Quarter come right off the pages and that her writing, although alledgedly fictional, keeps very true to history. I also really enjoy Clive Barker's early stuff as well as Stephen King. My all time favorite book is the Shining. I was afraid to put it down!! Dan Brown & Christopher Paolini; an incredible young author who made fantasy and sci-fi literarily digestable for me. (Thank you Ricky for making me read it and Mikey for letting us borrow it!) Christopher Moore is always good for dark comic relief and of course Laurel K. Hamilton-Merry Gentry is my Fae hero! I don't really stick to particular authors though, I am pretty open to reading anything, as long as it will hold my attention.

Heroes:

Simply stated, and this might sound kind of cheezy, but my Mom is my biggest hero. She went to hell for breakfast and back to raise me and says she wouldn't change a thing. My Mom (in the middle) and her twin sisters, Laura(left) & Lisa(right) throwing some aloha with the shaka from the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
MT (Mother Teresa), my OK sister Jasmine, and, may he rest in peace in Harley Heaven, our boy, Harley Butt.
