About Me

Hey there Myspace peeps, German Depression Doll (which I co-wrote with Seja Vogel) is now available from ITUNES. Click the link below!
Created with mySpace Profile EditorAs a solo artist, Ross likes to keep it simple, and in all recordings and live shows to date has stuck to using the bare essentials - an acoustic (or electric) guitar and his voice. The fragile beauty of Ross Hope's solo effort is derived from this simplicity, and also from the fact that he is basically incapable of playing any other instruments (ok maybe the tambourine) and has yet to do a solo recording with any real production values. In 2005 Book Club Records released a split EP featuring songs by Ross Hope and Benjamin Thompson called "Quiet Time vol.1". This recording featured the songs "Can't Concentrate", "Time Capsule", "Driving in Reverse", and a cover of Ben Thompson's "Deer". It also marked the beginning of Ross' solo performances and public recordings. Ross makes music that is raw, honest and catchy. He has been playing in solo mode around Brisbane since 2005, and in his band Iron On since 2002, taking their sounds right across the country (countless times) and as far as Canada.
ONE DAY I WILL FIND
THE RIGHT WORDS,
AND THEY WILL BE SIMPLE
