Sound Riot

About Me

THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!

To Everyone-
As of May 24th, 2005, Sound Riot has decided to call it quits.
The year 2004 was a fantastic year for Sound Riot. The release of our latest EP, "Shoplifter", has sold over a thousand copies and still continues to do so. The band debuted last summer at the Van's Warped Tour and has also had the luck to play many other major shows, including opening for bands like Sugarcult, Fall Out Boy, The Early November, Midtown, Over It, Hidden In Plain View, and the list goes on. Sound Riot grew in popularity throughout the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area.
However, since the beginning of fall 2004, the band has suffered a lot of struggles and heartbreaks, both through the band together and its members own personal accounts. In the early fall, Iggy Tissera, one of the bands vocalist, had to leave the band for college in New York. Through mid-fall, we were ecstatic to announce the arrival of our new guitar player Tim Danos. But shortly after his joining, he had a close relative die, which unfortunately led to some struggles in its own.
Although the year 2005 looked promising and full of high hopes, things didn't go the way we wished they could have. We started the year off on a positive note by opening for one of our idols, Andrew WK but shortly after, Ryan Stern, the drummer of the band, decided to leave the band due to artistic differences. He was replaced by longtime friend Will Broussard of the band At Midnight. But then in March and April of 2005, Patrick Walsh and his family moved to Florida.
The band has also had a lack of new original material, mostly because of artistic differences and lack of initiative between the band's members. We also struggled significantly to create committed mutual schedules, especially with the band's scheduled recording date with Matt Squire in August.
With all these circumstances above, the band has finally decided to call it quits. Sound Riot has always quoted the saying," What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger". Our dealings with setbacks and problems, however, has shown maturity and persistence beyond our years. As we looked at the future and present state of the band, we realized that in the long-term, the band would not be successful and should leave on good terms. Luckily, we are all really good friends and intend on keeping it that way.
On behalf of the band, we would like to thank all those who have given us opportunities beyond our beliefs. Thank you to everyone who ever came out to a show, bought a cd, stuck a sticker on their car or binder, reviewed our music, interviewed us, promoted a show, made their friends listen to us, ordered a cd from the mail, emailed us, asked us to play a show with them, put us on a compilation, let us borrow equipment for a show, filled in on drums, bought a t-shirt, advised us, joined the street team, dragged their friends to our shows, visited our website, listened to our music online, linked us to their website, and everything else we are forgetting. We believe all our hard work paid off; we regret nothing. This experience has changed our lives and we will never forget anything about it. To all of our friends, fans who cared to create dialogues with us, and have had faith in us since day one, we thank you with all our hearts. Without your help, none of this would be present today. We are going to miss everyone deeply.
The band has two more opportunities to be on stage together for the very last time. So if you get the chance, please stop by and say hi to us. We want to personally say thank you to each and every person who has contributed to all the success that we have been able to enjoy.

The band has grown beyond its expectations that we once held two to three years ago. We have evolved musically, emotionally, and matured in every other aspect of our young lives and we feel that there is only so much more to see in this world and so much more to experience. We ask that all of you keep in touch with us:
Nano - Nanoska88
Arian - Greythefallen
Pat - Patwalsh650
Tim - timmydanos
Will - Wfoegy
Just because Sound Riot is done doesn't mean we are out of the picture forever. So everyone keep your ears peeled for future projects.
Once again, thank you all from the very bottom of our hearts for all the good times we've been able to share with you. Its really something we've all had a blast doing and we will never forget it. Thank You
- Nano, Tim, Arian, Pat, and Will
