My Interests

I'd be interested in learning about this phenomenon or amazing coincidence of men and women on MySpace that were in such a hurry to post a pic of themselves that they forgot to put on clothes. Oh and also how did so many people break their middle fingers and have them reset pointing straight up? **************************************The usual...music, savoring the mundane and the extra-ordinary each day, organic gardening (for real)...although by the end of July I lose my gusto and let the weeds take over! plus a bunch more stuff!

I'd like to meet:

EXCUSE ME, but I'm not going to add you if 1 you don't even bother to send a note with a little something interesting to say and if 2 all your friends wear lingerie and have unnatural curves in their spines....People with a sense of humor, a sense of purpose, principles and who know how to tie their own shoes....Without trying to be rude: I'm not going to date you if you are 5 years older or younger than me, if you shoot guns for a hobby, voted for Bush, if you live outside the US, or if you are just getting out of prison. I don't date women and even though I'm open minded,I am not going to join in a menage a trois. Friends, well no psychotic break outs please. If you are cool, and I mean really cool, I want to meet you.

Music:

Began dancing in my mother's arms to her music: Fats Domino, Ray Charles, Elvis, American Grafitti soundtrack, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Santana, Stevie Wonder. My first album was Joan Jett. Punk days: GBH, Shaved Pigs, Token Entry, The Germs, Under Dog, Minor Threat, etc. Also was big into Fishbone (my first live show) can't even count how many times I saw them! Was big into the Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Clash. Early adult years: Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tad, Clutch, Sepultura, Sonic Youth, Social Distortion, etc. Worked in Deep Ellum during a great time. Saw bands every night of the week. Last Rites, Yeah Yeah Yeah (not today's version), Hash Palace, Reverend Horton Heat, Billy Goat, pop poppins (ok, was dating Broose back then, and so pretty much changed the type of music I was going to). Also have a mellow side, Chopin, Bach, Debussy, Radiohead, Luna, etc. And a Texas side and good country: Junior Brown, Don Walser, Willie Nelson, Emmy Lou Harris, etc. Also lots of talented friends: check them out...

Movies:

I wanna marry Tim Burton. OK, well I really admire his talent. After that, I'm not too picky. I like silly funny movies, don't watch scary pictures, equally hate stupid predictable Hollywood flix and pretentious art house movies. Something in between for me.

Television:

Globe Trekker, PBS Kids and late night shit to fall asleep to

Books:

Non-fiction. Manual of Structural Kinesiology, Taking Root to Fly (Articles on Functional Anatomy), How to Keep Your Kids Healthy in Spite of your Doctor

Heroes:

My great-grandmother-an amazing woman.

path etiquette on line

I’m working on forgiveness. Before I can move along on my path I need to clear the debris. I’ve a date with myself. I thank the Universe for direction and marvel at poetic coincidence.

HELP-leafcutters!!!

So, I've been dealing with the remarkable leafcutter ant And if they weren't so friggin destructive, they'd be amazing. They have a pretty sophisticated system, which I am fortunate to be able...

rAfflle

Remi turned 7 last week. Seems like just yesterday when I was holding him in my arms. Perhaps it's a bit cliche, but 'tis true. He is turning out to be a voracious reader. And a badass baseball player...

143 million lbs

That's a lot of beef. For my non vegetarian friends, I've always advocated grass-fed/pastured beef grown/raised at least with organic standards. Yeah, big deal, so they were mechanically shoving downe...

Other-worldly

I was raised in a home that encouraged philosophizing, debate and general sharing of ideas. My family structure was quite unusual and ever since I can remember we were taught to not care what others t...

change

I'm not going to attempt to change myself. I am a lot of things good and bad. I love. I err. I forgive. I incite. I will not this year, nor ever, let someone tell me what is best for me or my family.I...

Buddha

Just in case some of you need enlightenment...tonight at dinner, Remi shared some little known information about Buddha. It seems that in his travels, before he got to the Bodhi tree, Buddha got lost....

Lies, Liars, DISHONOR

I'm dealing with a continuum of lies right now. I've had just about enough. I'm venting first before I direct my ire into a formal letter. This summer my refrigerator's back panel was freezing up. I c...

All at once

What a day. And yet it started out as any other, what's normal for me is highly unusual for most. Anyway, as I was preparing Remi's spelling assignment, I got a call from my mother's friend. My mother...
