The Comedy Quarry is not just the usual comedy show!

Yes, there are different guest comics in each show; but, there's also music, audience-interaction, Free Stuff Giveaways, Prizes, a musical interlude (rest room/phone/smoke break), and more, in addition to great comedy!

It's a lot of fun, and has received excellent reviews from audiences, comics, and editors.

One of the unique aspects of the show is the Digging for Gold segment. Part of our mission is to support and encourage aspiring comics. We do this through our Digging for Gold program, and part of that plays out on stage. In each show, brief spots are provided for several aspiring comics to perform right along with seasoned and professional comics. Audience members are given the means to rate each performance.

Digging for Gold is based on mutual-support and cooperation. The spots provide aspiring comics with the opportunity to perform with professionals, and to receive valuable input to help them going forward. The pro comics who are in the shows provide them with one-on-one feedback on their sets to help them sharpen their material and delivery skills. All who are willing to work to further their skills and participate in the process are given additional performances as well as ongoing assistance and support.

Digging for Gold is not an open mic or new talent showcase. It is an on-going program for growth that requires work and participation. All spots are booked in advance and scheduled on specific dates. Aspiring comics interested in participating may contact us. Initial performances are scheduled according to level of experience on a first-come-first-served basis.

Although it is not a contest or competition, prizes and awards are used both to motivate and to reward efforts. There are pins, medals, advancements to higher levels, through play-offs and All-Star Championships with trophies, prizes and cash awards. Along the way, there are opportunities to be awarded longer paid spots in the shows; opportunities to learn and try hosting/MC duties, and other skills that can help make them more marketable; and networking and assistance for shows at other venues. The entire process is designed to help aspiring comics build more confidence, experience and contacts as they are building and improving their skills.

"In an environment of support and encouragement,
where efforts are acknowledged and rewarded,
talent can grow and flourish."

Proceeds from all shows fund assistance and opportunities for aspiring comics.
