Pretty much anyone who thinks we'll click. If you are a guy in SF that can work out during the day and wants to work out at SOMA Golds (and wants to work out, not be a social butterfly) and are looking for a workout buddy, even better.
Wide variety, depends on the mood. This last month has involved: DUFFY, Defected House mixes, the Grateful Dead, Bat for Lashes, SIA, Robyn, Ministry, New Model Army, eagerly awaiting the new Portishead.
Can't get that excited about movies, but head to them with the SF Movie Bears for the social aspect. Juno was cool, Persepolis was great, liked There Will Be Blood alot.
My happiest day was when I picked up the television and threw it out the window, watching it explode into shards of glass and plastic and chemicals to be swept up by the street cleaners on Thursday between 9 - 11 AM.Okay, that's just a pipe dream. But what little TV we watch is typically delivered via NetFlix (for those Showtime, HBO, and Bravo series that we don't get since we don't have cable).
Serious fiction is typically my genre. Timeless recommendations: Running with Scissors (Augusten Burroughs), Brideshead Revisited (Evelyn Waugh), the Sex Lives of Cannibals: Adrift in the Equatorial Pacific (J. Maarten Troost), the Swimming Pool Library (Alan Hollinghurst) Authors I'll always read: Michelle Tea, Joe Keenan, John Irving, Augusten Burroughs, David Sedaris, T.C. Boyle, Armistead Maupin, Molly Ivens (RIP)
Heroes is a strong word, but I'm putting down those people whom I respect for doing what they want, and doing it well. Storm Large, Bjork, Heklina, John Waters, Leigh Bowery, Flower Frankenstein
