Currently one of House Music's hottest female vocalists, UK based Alec Sun Drae is ready to hit the big time in the near future. Singing since the age of 5, through a host of different genres, Alec has now found her home on the Dance Scene.
2006 was a massive year for her after hooking up with NYC Legend Eric Kupper and producing one of the year's most infectious tracks - 'Free’. The tune done so well it was signed by Mark Doyle's Fierce Angels imprint for a full release. In 2007 she hooked up with Groove Invaderz with whom she wrote ‘Sweet Music’ released by DSR.
Later that year Alec signed a publishing deal with 23rd Precint, which is affiliate to Notting Hill Music Group whose clients include Will Smith, Nelly, Beyonce, Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears, Eminem, DMX, Puff Daddy, Boy George, Ne-Yo, Shalamar, Nas, 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, The Jacksons, Destiny’s Child, Usher, Madonna, Busta Rhymes, Christina Aguilera, Michael Jackson, Brandy, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Jay Z, New Order, Prince, Paul Weller, Otis Redding, The Prodigy, Bow Wow, Kelly Rowland, Jennifer Lopez.
In early 2008 Alec worked with Chicago House legend Mark Pichiotti, with whom she recorded 8 tracks. First of them titled ‘Be Your Lady’ has just been released by Blueplate Records. She also teamed up with Defected signed production team -Karol XVII and MB Valence. Their track ‘Do U Want Me’ was featured on Light the Sun compilation released in April 2008. Alec went on to work with Frooty Collective with whom she did a remake of 90’s classic ‘Ghetto Heaven’. Their version, titled ‘Disco Heaven’ is currently taking UK Club Scene by storm. Having been played by radio stations such as Ministry of Sound Radio, XFM or BBC1, the track premiered on Music Week’s Club Charts – Commercial Pop 30 at no 27 and was tipped as Uprfront Chart Breaker at No 14. Their second track titled ‘Frooty For Love’ is most likely to follow in ‘Disco Heaven’s’ footsteps.
Alec’s latest release is a collboration with UK’s own Fresh 27. Having had successful releases on the last Housexy no.10 compilation, Soul Heat, Double Shock, Lowered and Loopfreaks Records, he needs no further introduction. The track is titled ‘Still Believe’ and has just been released by Loopfreaks Records.
Alec’s upcoming releases scheduled for second part of 2008 include: ‘Don’t Push Your Luck’ with Soulshaker, ‘1NONLY1’ with The Soulkeys Projects Band (to be released by Diffused Music), ‘Let the Music Guide You’ with Blueplate Allstars (Blueplate Records), ‘Getting Hot’ with Redsoul, ‘Back to Love’ with Dolls Combers (Reel Grooves), ‘Why’ with Sean Biddle (9 Channel Records), Groove’o’Holics ‘Addicted’, Steven Stone ‘Come Into My Life’, Alex & Filip 'Tell Me' etc.
Alec is a very in demand lady, currently working with the likes of Funkagenda (Toolroom Records), Alex Botar, Playmaker, Bassmonkeys, Audiofreaks Aka Soulshaker, Mark Picchiotti (Blueplate Records), Silosonic, Pagany (Distar), Frooty Collective (Frooty Records), Karol XVII and MB Valence (Defected) and continuing her relationship with Fierce Angels.
As well as being a fantastic singer and songwriter, her main passion is performing live and boy can this girl rock the party! No matter if she is performing in front 100 or 80.000 strong audience she always gives 110%.
So far, among many, Alec performed at such events as MTV Opening Party (Poland) opening for Moloko and George Clinton and P-Funk, Beach Party Festival (Poland), where she shared the stage with such club music legends as Olav Basoski, Benassi Bros and Westbam, Love Parade (Poland) and also at such leading venues as The Mass (London), Sin (London), The Brook (Southampton), Embassy (London), Infinity (London), Geburtstagclub (Berlin), Kryztal (Oslo), Cosmo (Oslo), Bedandsupper Club(Bangkok)Platinium (Warsaw) and Beach Bar (Marseilles).
