Nothing very exciting about me. I have no claim to fame and am just your average man in the street, or in the pub if someone is buying a round!!
In 1991 I took early retirement from my job at British Telecom as an HGV Truck Driver(which I had done for 29 years) and my wife Sue and I moved home from Cheshire to a picturesque little cottage in a quaint village in Torbay, Sunny Devon.
Two weeks after we moved in we bought two 7 week old "Blue Roan" Spaniel puppy twins and named them Rosie & Daisy.
After 6 months of retirement I thought it time I got myself a hobby so I set about creating a collection of memorabilia connected with a motor coach company from Rochdale Lancashire.
When I was 5 years old my parents took me on my first holiday to Torquay (a journey which in those days from Manchester took 15 hours!) and we went there by a motor coach belonging to "Yelloway Motor Services Company Ltd" of Rochdale. The holiday and coach journey was so enjoyable that we all repeated the event every year for the next 25 years!!
My hobby of collecting memorabilia of Yelloway Motor Services Ltd., which started in 1991 just to pass the time away, has now turned into a 12 hour a day job operating my own vintage Mobile Motor Coach Museum! the website address is; www.yelloway.co.uk if you care to take a look.
In 1993 My wife Sue and I and several friends went out regularly together to many entertainment venues in the Torbay area and at one particular venue we heard two sisters, aged 11 & 10, singing pop songs. The girls were Keedie & Nadine and their act was called "KN21" They were so good that we decided to visit the venues where they were performing in the future. Keedie and Nadine were later joined by a friend and they renamed their act "Keedie & Co" and they were terrific!
We followed their career with intense interest and all agreed that one day Keedie, who had the most distinctive voice of the three, would be a mega star. That prediction has now come true. Keedie is an international singing star and she has definately got the best soprano voice in the world today. My grandaughter Jessica and I have created a website dedicated to this phenomenal young lady's career. www.keedie.info.
And that's not all folks!! there is another extremely talented lady who is a close neighbour of Keedie. The Lady is Miss Beryl Down and she is slightly older in years than Keedie (60 to be precise!)and she has written Dame Gracie Fields life story, but with a difference, it is "All In Rhyme"and quite amazing!! What this dear lady has written apart from Gracie's Life Story has to be seen to be believed!! All is revealed at www.ourgracie.com
