Oaksterdam News-- a newspaper serving as an alliance, founded for the people, by the people.
We stand for freedom and social justice, especially as regards to cannabis. By next year we'll have four years of experience under our belt, and our projected print run should be around 1 to 1.5 million- that's more than 10 times the High TImes national run, just in the state of California!
The paper covers a variety of subjects ranging from local Oakland stories to high profile issues facing the nation-- issues like states rights and the right of the private citizen to do with their own body what they desire. As the War on Drugs gains more and more criticism, a greater number of Americans admit to smoking pot; a large number of Americans believe that prosecution for cannabis related crimes should be a lower priority on the government's list; and a growing number realize how useful and ecological cannabis is as an energy resource, textile, and pharmaceutical. Our culture is at the precipice of a new movement. We're poised to make history, and we're hoping you'll join us.
