Tim Howar, one of Canada's leading male performers, has had starring roles in many successful productions in Toronto and throughout Canada. He won great critical acclaim playing the title role in Tommy, the musical composed by The Who. He has also appeared as Marius in Les Miserables in Toronto and on tour in the USA. Other appearances have included Martin in Outrageous and Joel in Anything That Moves.
In Canada he has appeared in Hello Dolly and Miss Saigon and has played Guillaume in The House of Martin Guerre, Gilbert in Anne Of Green Gables and the title role in Joseph And His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
In 2001 he moved to England to star in a new musical Peggy Sue Got Married. In 2002 he starred alongside Ruthie Henshall in The Magnificent Musicals and went on to make his concert debut with the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall, with the Flemish Radio Orchestra in Brussels and Rotterdam, and with the Orchestra National de Lille in Lille and Paris. He also took part in the concert performance of Ragtime which was a highlight of the Cardiff International Music Theatre Festival.
Tim recently starred as the lead in Tonight's The Night - the Ben Elton/Rod Stewart musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre, London. Tim created the role of Stu Clutterbuck, for which he received a Best Actor in a Musical nomination in the 2004 What's On Stage awards.
He recently completed a year and a half run on Broadway in Jonathan Larson's Tony Award winning rock opera RENT .
Tim is the lead singer with the rock band Van Tramp.
