About Me

..
Typical Stereotype: "shy quiet geek-ish girl"
Which is probably...mostly...true.
I am Katherine, aka Kat (...or...Kate/Nerk/Bobbi Pin/Keek/etc...many nicknames are existant, but I am not writing them all down).
Currently I am a senior at Antioch High which isn't the worst place as I once thought of as...I guess...I am very reserved one might say at least in the eyes of society today. I doodle and sketch. I write many forms of expression. I love photography. I am known to have sudden outbursts of energy and hyperness. I have a tendency to sometimes forget people cannot hear/read my thoughts and in result make a comment which seems random, but, to me, actually is not. I have the bestest friends anyone could ask for. They save me from life's downs, tell me not to worry (common habit for me) on small and large things, and make me laugh so hard my stomach hurts. I believe everything happens for a reason, despite the immediate effects that occur as result. I believe we can all make a difference (watch An Inconveinent Truth...you'll feel the same probably). I love movies. I am a film addict. I hate most of the films that are new releases. I prefer classics and not-all-about-physical-appearance-typical-teenage-attitude-o r-materialistic-films. I procrastinate things I know I need to get done (footnote: Currently am procrastinating...you think I'm joking?). I want to accomplish many things in my life. I am a hopeless romantic. My friends are the bestest people I know and love. They are crazy, stupid, and weird, but I love them. We are the stupid girls in the car next to you blasting Spice Girls/80s music/anything we know or don't know the lyrics to...and singing at the top of our lungs to. I apologize. I am original and myself. I don't try to be someone I'm not. I am sraightedge. I want to travel to every place I've longed to go to. I think everyone should have a theme song that plays where ever they go, that changes with their mood. I was the kid who always imagined what life would be like if the ceiling was the floor and the floor was the ceiling.
Some awesome quotes I love:
“This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.”
"There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness."
Friedrich Nietzsche
“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” -Maria Robinson
“Everyone has a photographic memory. Some don't have film.
"You're alive. Do something. The directive in life, the moral imperative was so uncomplicated. It could be expressed in single words, not complete sentences. It sounded like this: Look. Listen. Choose. Act."
Barbara Hall
"Life is just one damned thing after another."
Elbert Hubbard
“It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return, but what is the most painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let the person know how you feel.”
“The world is a stage, but the play is badly cast.” -Oscar Wilde
“I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.”
“Borrow money from a pessimist - they don't expect it back”
“A line is a dot that went for a walk. ” -Paul Klee
"Shyness has a strange element of narcissism, a belief that how we look, how we perform, is truly important to other people." -Andre Dubus
"Remember, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday." -Dale Carnegie
"So one day as a kid I was at the local zoo. I was bored and kept pestering my dad is go and play. Eventually he agreed, took me over to the lion enclosure, threw me in and said: 'There ya go, play dead...' " -Robert Paul
"I made a killing in the stock market. My broker lost all my money, so I killed him." -Jim Loy
"You know somebody actually complimated me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said 'Parking Fine', so that was nice." -Tommy Cooper
"We are the hero in our own story." -Mary McCarthy
"What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us." -Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Roses are red, violets are blue, I'm a schizophrenic and so am I." -Oscar Levant
"If kisses were water and hugs were leaves, would you give me an ocean and fill it with trees?"
"Holy Kleenex Batman, it was right under our nose and we blew it!"
-Robin
---The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington engineering mid-term. The answer was so "profound" that the Professor shared it with colleagues, and the sharing obviously hasn't ceased...
Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or Endothermic (absorbs heat)?
Most of the students wrote Proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law, (gas cools off when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following:
"First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate that souls are moving into Hell and the rate they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let us look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Some of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there are more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially.
Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand as souls are added. This gives two possibilities:
1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.
2. Of course, if Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.
So which is it?
If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa Banyan during my Freshman year, "...that it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you.", and take into account the fact that I still have not succeeded in having sexual relations with her, then, #2 cannot be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and will not freeze."
This student received the only A.---
"A true friend is someone who sees the pain in your eyes while everyone else believes the smile on your face"
Someday your prince charming will come. Mine just took a wrong turn, got lost, and is too stubborn to ask for directions.

Heroes:

Specifically...
There's my Square family.
They are the family that will be there for me whenever and for whatever. We've been through so much. Even if it's only hanging out for an hour, they always make my day. If it wasn't for them I don't know where I'd be. Laughter...tears... sushi...we've overcome/overeaten these obstacles together. Time and distance won't separate us. I LOVE MY SQUARES+CURTIS!
Oh...if you think you're a square...you're not sorry...
Now...individually...
This girl has been there since those HRS days. I miss our days full of carefree thinking, taquitos, movies, mario kart, swimming till I burn, bobithy, and listening to spanish music her dad would always try to whistle to while we tried to communicate silently in the backseat about her latest crush haha. We've helped each other along the road of life and it's been a blast. We have our own handshake...Mexico memories... College is just an expensive excuse to visit each haha. She's my NERK/M-Squared and if you hurt her, the Square family will come knocking on your door...with a friendly gift basket full of muffins and a note saying "we don't like you....but here are some muffins!"....Not really...well maybe but don't expect yummy muffins. Haha anyways,...She's one of my bestest friends and I love her!
Okay so I stole this picture from her, but that's only because she has yet to get the pretty one. Anyways, this is N-Squared. She's weird, hilariously, and silently/loudly laughs with me over the randomest, stupidest things ever...but I love her! We are uh...strange

...and wonder why we have friends haha. We always take pictures of us sword-fighting with...everything but swords. We've only known each other like a year but we'll be friends for life. We communicate without words...we're amazing like that. We have our own handshake/dance...it's pretty sweet haha. She's one of my best friends and you better beware messing with her...Mess with her you mess with all our "weird" people too...and they're crazier than us...sometimes.
So I don't take pictures with Curtis or at least I don't have any. But this is basically him...

Yeah he can be crazy weird/hyper...normally always loud with a laugh that is nothing but contagious. He's like a big brother (and according to some people...he actually is) and he's always there to talk to and get advice him as long as he doesn't get confused or distracted. Don't mess with him either...I think he has a gang of friends more intimidating than us Squares...who ran track too...haha.
Then there are the people worth mentioning outside of the Square family...
Liz...She's THE BESTEST SISTER in the whole wide world! We talk about anything and everything...we share almost everything, including procrastination. We've definitely had our share of unusual, humourous, and unique memories. If it wasn't for her...I'd be stupid haha.
Then there's Kay (far left) (K-to-the-1st...cousin within the Square family).
She's crazy weird but we love her! I've known her since like kindergarten and separate schools have distanced us, but whenever we do hang out WATCH OUT! She's amazing fun and hilarious. One-of-a-kind. I know if I ever need a friend I can always turn to her.
That's B (on the far left)
She was my first friend in high school. We've seen each other through a lot (BKJK, boring classes, 7-11 lunches, etc.). We've had our moments of insanity and randomness. She's the type of person who will patiently wait for you while you're trying to get something just right. She is one of the kindest, smartest, and best friend I met at Antioch High. I'll never forget our in-depth discussions about life and how much we've changed since that first year.
This is Gary. He can make me laugh when I'm down, feel beautiful when I feel like crap, and make me feel like I'm the most wonderful person alive. I love him more than cream soda haha. He's one of the bestest friends a girl could have...especially when she's bored and he's had caffeine.

So these are my heroes...if you're not on here it's not because you aren't one too...just means you don't take pictures with me...I should be the one taking offense.
Marines, Me, and Erin. I've basically known Erin since birth. We'll be redheaded friends for life. I'm sorry that we grew apart during high school. But whenever we do hang out I always laugh, learn, and have the strangest, funnest, most interesting conversations and moments. She's amazing!

My friends and I do weird things. Like overreact to strong winds...
Josh, N-Squared, and me.
We're JNK. It would be JUNK but we never found our own U and then we decided against it because then we would have to be like "Hey U!" and that would be confusing we concluded.
Josh is one of the most randomest guys I know, but he's hilarious. One-of-a-kind, Josh is one of the coolest people I met at highschool. N-Squared and I have decided, life without Josh wouldn't be anywhere as cool as it is now, and not even half as interesting. Many inside, out-of-the-box, jokes are thanks to this guy.
Me and N-Squared are both this little girl's mum. Basically our Alisia is an amazing young girl who we must protect from all of life's obstacles. She's too wonderful to be brought down by anything.
In this picture, the far left...that's Emily (one of the Emily's anyway). She is one of the strongest (physically. Seriously. Not joking) and nicest girls I know. Love her!
We may not take the best photos, but we share the BESTEST of memories!
My friends, family, and the many others who have touched my life. Thanks.
