I have been singing since I was 5. I always knew that was what I wanted to do w/my life. I was in my 1st band @ 16 & many more after that. I toured w/a band in Alaska & Hawaii but they broke up after that & I was forced to go it alone. Which was great, really, because I taught myself to play guitar & I started writing all my own songs. I busked, & played gigs alone for the 1st time in Colorado. It was scary but I learned so much & grew as an artist. I moved to Rhode Island in hopes of having more opportunity when I was stricken w/Multiple Sclerosis. It knocked me on my ass for about 2 years. I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to play live or @ all, again. But slowly I'm recovering & I'm one of the lucky ones in that I have a "mild" case, if there is such a thing. But I still have my mind & most of my dexterity & I am feeling ready to play music again. It's given me a new perspective on life that I really want to share. My aunt also had MS & she passed away in 2001 @ the age of 39. I didn't know that I had it @ the time & I really didn't understand what it does to people. It's a very misunderstood disease. I want to help raise awareness of this insidious disease. We who have it don't talk about it enough & I've found that when we do people seem to think we're exaggerating to get out of working or get things from people. There is so much ignorance that I want to shine a light on. I hope through my music I can be the bridge of understanding, not just MS but any kind of pain. I will be your Witness.
