About Me

Music that's still banging in the car stereo and shaking up my Ipod (April 2008)

From an early age onwards, I was influenced by my older brother to play the piano and pick up the guitar. Always around to hand down musical knowledge as well as respectable rock, funk, jazz and soul records, I secretly stole classic albums out of his collection. Soon afterwards came the home made mixtapes and anniversary compilations. This inevitably triggered the start of an eclectic music collection.

During my college years I started spinning and obsessively collecting vinyl. Meeting like-minded souls like Mr.Scruff, Jazzanova, Philarmonix, Waldo and Aidanh I felt the urge to share my musical background and passion through deejaying and music journalism. I started reviewing and interviewing for the late Plastiks magazine. Later on I traded my pencil for HTML-code and became a contributor for Philarmonix' musical platform Metronomic-Family. I had the chance to interview some of my musical heroes such as such as Gilles Peterson, Mr. Scruff, Swell Session, Ayro, Amp Fiddler, John Arnold, Earl Zinger, Michael Reinboth, Carl Craig, Fréderic Galliano, Maurice Fulton, Cinematic Orchestra, Dwele, Fertile Ground, Phil Asher, Aim, Keb Darge, Sandboy, Spacek, New Mastersounds, Tweak, Kosma, Ron Trent, Faze Action, Ben Westbeech, Soil & "Pimp" Sessions and many more.

Being born into and raised by a family of musicians, making music has always been my main motivation. Eager to further develop those skills, I've been taking jazzclasses in Antwerp and Brussels since early 2005. With a couple of musical projects running and others in the making, I hope to finalise that home studio soon... so new productions can find their way within the global freestyle-musical network. Word!
