About Me

..

It wasn't until the 7th grade that Sean realized that the trombone would not be his instrument. Fueled with teen angst and confusing influences, he emerged as the singer and main songwriter for the legendary proto-punk band Meaningless Disaster, unfortunately 10 years behind or ahead of their time, depending on your perspective. He followed with a confounding turn as lead guitarist for the instrumental jazz-fusion ensemble El Carnival, despite never having actually played the guitar. Their debut/ final performance on a Public Access Telethon culminated in perhaps the longest botched ending in the history of television. Soon after, he returned to his roots, providing guitar and vocals to a series of power pop bands including the Transcendentalists and Spray 9. His first national exposure came with the psychedelic grunge band Envy, who Alternative Press praised for their "aggressive power offset by an impressive melodic sense." CMJ noted the "skillful guitar work...wailing, hook-filled, and ethereal." His most recent band, The Red Telephone, was signed to Warner Bros. Records. The band was aptly described as "mixing Radiohead and U2's guitar prowess with the U.S. power pop 'n' Americana sweep of Wilco and Big Star" (allmusic.com). His recent solo work has been described as "good" by friends and family.
