Get Some Farkin Trance Up Ya!

About Me

=================================================== Biography
Born in the small town of Wagga Wagga, Australia in 1986 Simon Hunter was introduced to music from pioneers such as the Beatles during his early years. With a firm love for music, it seemed fate that Simon would grow up to be so involved in the local and national music scene.
But everything changed during Simon’s 13th year of existence, when he was introduced to a Wild FM CD. Fascination and discovery motivated Simon to obtain his first set of turntables and relentlessly practice the art of the DJ, dance music had become his passion.
Around 2002 Simon began to find himself tired of the commercial style he was listening to and by chance discovered a Hard House Euphoria CD by Lisa Lashes. This new genre, with its high levels of energy and underground atmosphere led Simon into trying his hand at spinning this fresh style of music. It was also around this time that he befriended Canadian Producer and Engineer TFT, who would become his producing mentor.
Continually producing and bedroom Djing, it was time Simon Hunter got his name out and in 2004 he was given his first break by local promoter Artemis. Appearing at BOTS VIII and playing in front of his first true crowd, Simon’s intial taste of what Djing encompasses was not enough and with a great crowd reaction he was soon to be a resident amongst the locals. A chance encounter with Trance DJ/Producer Misja Helsloot during his 2004 Australian tour, saw him take an interest in Simon Hunter’s style, exchanging emails the two have been close ever since.
Towards 2005 Simon found his true calling in a new genre he discovered, Trance. The uplifting and also melodic atmosphere of the genre was a revelation, with other locals including DJ Enerv8 & Peekz playing this style, Simon soon become one of them. With ongoing gigs and his aptitude to play all styles of Trance, Simon has featured alongside internationals including; Stoneface & Terminal, Jesselyn, Dj Wag, Scott Project, Alphazone, Brisk, Technikal, Olly perris and Camilo Perales.
In 2005 Simon Hunter had his first two releases on ZeroOneTwo Recordings. With a collaboration and solo track, this was only the start for Simon’s producing career. Constantly showing new songs to Misja Helsloot, in 2006 his co-production with local Kilby saw their tune “Tuesday,” become signed to Misja’s Gesture Digital Red label. Since then Simon Hunter has also released on Australian Trance label, TranceTribe Recordings and has a string of new releases awaiting releases.
Looking up to producers like Armin Van Buuren, Alphazone, Misja Helsloot and John O’Callaghan, Simon maintains steadfast in being an individual with his unique Djing style. Also in such a short time Simon’s sets have found themselves broadcast on Dutch radio station RadioX and local radio show Space, as well as having his songs receive play time from both local and international artists. If there’s one name in Australian Trance scene you need to remember, you can start with Simon Hunter.
