ABOUT ME:
I was born in "beautiful downtown Sharon" Pennsylvania. My parents moved to Hermitage (our biggest rival) when I was 15 and I was blessed to have them keep both homes. Sharon is home of Reyers, the world's largest shoe store, Daffin's chocolate, and The Winner, the worlds largest off-price fashion store. I had to walk up hill, both ways, to get to high school (sometimes in the snow). I became fascinated with theatre when I was 12, I was in a commercial for Helen Freed's Special Occasion Dresses when I was 17, I sang in the Macy's Day Parade when I was 18, I worked Off-Broadway when I was 21, I worked for MGM studios when I was 22, and graduated college and moved to SoCal at 23. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for my friends support all the way!
Now I’m living my dream. I gave away and sold EVERYTHING I owned and packed up my car and drove to California without a job or a place to live. Again with the support of friends, it's all working out! I believe that if you want something bad enough and you're willing to work hard enough, you really CAN get it. There's no such thing as "not enough time" or "I can't". In Webster’s dictionary "I can't" means= "no choice but to." Struggle will only make you appreciate your achievements even more. Everyone asks what I want to do with my life. I've just gradually made goals along the way. 1. Graduate college (done) 2. Work in NYC (done) 3. Work for Disney (done) 4. Work for Ellen Degeneres (kinda did for the Oscars, but doesn't count just yet) 5. Stage Manage the Super Bowl halftime show 6. Have a Family
After crashing in Palm Springs for 5 weeks as a pit stop, I've been in LA since Oct 1st 2006. I finally landed a place to live Dec 1st 2006. I worked for 2 companies' bartending and serving for special events all over Los Angeles. I really need to learn my actors because I recognized so many famous actors but don't know their names. I guess that's good though because then I don't get star struck. My Entertainment Resume in SoCal is building Slowly...

My "fun-time" includes Karaoke and hanging out poolside. I like singing into a jump rope handle and dancing around the house like I'm a rock star. I like to rock out to old school music before I go out to a club. I'm a girly-girl but I like BEER and I'm not afraid to admit it. I like sleeping in and not waking up 'till I have a puppy in my face. I love dancing but I've never had real lessons. I miss my show choir from high school. I find dance fascinating, there can be so much emotion behind it. I was given the chance to dance onstage in a Modern Dance Concert and I feel more complete with myself. I've also always wanted to be a gymnast but was told I was too tall. That's something I'll probably never get to try.
I always wanted to learn to play the piano and the drums, but my mom said they were too loud so I played the flute for 6 years. I took Spanish for 5 years and can understand some, but I can only speak it a little. I’m trying though! I've lost it since I don't use it; I need some to practice with. I love the beach even though I'm afraid of everything in the ocean. I desperately need to get over my fear because I want to learn to surf. I love ice cream; in fact I eat it almost every night before bed. That's how I keep my slim figure. :)
The thing I miss most about Sharon, PA is the West Hill. Sled riding and making snow angels while overlooking the whole city in the winter. Going up there and watching the sun set on the changing leaves in the fall is really beautiful also. The talented football players we had and the fans that supported them. The basketball games and the kitchen utensil band that out played the pep-band. Adam Patrick Schuster was the best high school sweetheart and he's the best Adam I have ever dated. (yea I've dated 4, so I quit Adams for good! sorry) I love the fact that the macho sporty guys could still get on stage every spring and dance and sing their heart out for the Spring Concert. JAD was by far the best dancer of them all... (he pays me to say that :))
The thing I'll miss most about Kent State will be the black squirrels and all the memories with the CPC and in the PUSS LOUNGE. (If you don't know what it stands for, you weren't cool enough) I'll never forget stupid moments with Meghan, drunken moments with Scott and gang, and crazy moments with Jon Ray, unforgettable moments with Kristen Pieski and the rest of the theatre gang. Peeing behind Franklin Hall on the drunk walk home from downtown. Puking in bushes after too many keg stands and beer bongs at Frat Parties. New and Old Townhome parties. Street/block parties for Halloween every year. Flashfest. Streaking at Eagles Landing. Opening night parties, annual theatre funeral, and of course free Natty Light at Frat parties. Going out in Kent can be best described by my favorite unsigned band SKINNY (formerly known as 2 Skinny Dorks):
"211 franklin street
cobble stones underneath our feet
gyro bob with his food that smells so sweet
and millions of people
and live drum beats, down on franklin street.
Down on franklin street
everybody knows your name
down on franklin street
we are so glad that you came
down on franklin street.
A kiss is just a kiss
a hug is just a hug
and everybody's chilling
serve the drinks up by the mugs
smoking, tokin, joking
cut ourselves a rug
listen to the blues
the house band at mugs
down on franklin street."
I also helped revive my fraternity (Alpha Psi Omega) from the 8 members they had when I was a freshman to over 50 as a senior. And I'm proud to be a part of our award-winning homecoming parade floats three years in a row. I was a Kent Stater for two rotations of grad-students and learned so much from all of them. Generation 1= Erika and Matt were just too much fun. Generation 2= Paul, Marcus and Kim taught me new ways to look at things. And between Christine and Ernie, I'm not sure who groped me more. But what is a theatre department without sexual harassment, haha. I could only be so lucky to get the chance to work with any them again down the road. I loved my major and the variety of people I've been fortunate enough to meet.
Other random information about me… I have been to jail before, but it was an accident, I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I wasn't allowed to have a lot of junk-food when I was little including frozen French fries or sugar in my kool-aid. I still don't add sugar to my kool-aid, and I don't have any cavities. I try to drink one glass of milk everyday. Before I die I would like to visit at least 3 countries, (already been to 33 states, Canada, Mexico, and the Bahamas) go skydiving, see Mt. Rushmore, and ride the Colorado River. I can strike up a conversation with anyone. In fact, I do, I love meeting new people and finding out what they have to say. I enjoy playing tennis, going bowling, and hanging out with the guys. I like to get all cute and go to the movies or go camping and rough it. I eat Sushi about once a month and I don't get to eat Quaker Steak and Lube often enough. (P.S. If you're sending a gift from back home, that's a good one) I love getting dressed up, especially for no reason at all. Formal parties are so much fun to host and/or attend. The first concert I ever saw was Meatloaf, then I saw Jimmy Buffett, Weezer, Dashboard Confessional, 3rd Eye Blind, 2 Skinny Dorks, AussieFloyd, and Metal Skool. My biggest pet peeve is a missed call. I can't stand when people call my cell and don't leave a message, grrrrrr! I like to dress up my dog; she likes it too. My toe nails have been painted since I was in the 5th grade. My finger nails are usually kept long. I love my friends and they accept me for who I am. I've had a great time in Cali and I'm so glad I moved here. I haven't really had time to get home sick yet, but I do miss my friends and hang out places. In Cali, Johnny’s on York in Highland Park is definitely a good stop though. I'm having fun meeting new people from all over the country; everyone here is from someplace else... minus a select few. It's fascinating to hear other people’s stories and find out how they got here. In 2006 I said, "Go Big, or Go Home" and I wasn't going anywhere. In 2007 Matt Gorris said, "It's the year of Tara Nicole!" He was right, I definitely got my feet wet and built up a good reputation. Matt said, “2008: YOU don't know me yet, but I AM Tara Nicole.” I look forward to what 2009 has to offer.I hope that my hard work and desire to succeed shows through again this year. I came up with my own quote this year! :)

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Ellen Degeneres, Bill Cosby, and Bruce Willis are my top three, I'm sure there's more....but here in LA it's a daily occurance, it's really not that big of a deal, they're just people like me. A man who can sing to me or play an instrument such as the guitar or the piano... or ROCK BAND! Just trying can also be cute.

***With the stillness of the night there comes a time to understand, to reach out and touch tomorrow, take the future in our hand. We can see a new horizon built on all that we have done and our dreams begin another thousand circles 'round the sun. We go on to the joy and through the tears we go on to discover new frontiers moving on with the current of the years. We go on moving forward, now as one moving on with a spirit born to run ever on with each rising sun. To a new day we go on. We go on.*** -We Go on, Disney's Tapestry of Nations-
