Paradigm Shift

The sharpest criticism often goes hand in hand with the deepest idealism and love of country. - Robe

About Me

I'm Kim, I live in a forest and have access to an ocean view whenever I want. I work at a fair trade clothing store, where I lounge around, listen to reggae and make things out of hemp all day. I walk barefoot through the woods on the way to class and hang out in forts constructed from redwood branches. My life is awesome.I like my experiences to be intense, my emotions strong and my vibes good. I pity anyone who wastes their life on doubt, fear and insecurity, there's no need for that. My Interests

words, and humans. I have a bizzare obsession with both.

I'd like to meet:

"There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness." -Friedrich Nietzsche

I would love to meet someone so beautifully imperfect that they make me change my mind on the whole "soulmate" issue

Jimmy Tamborello, every band he's ever worked with and every song he's ever remixed.

Movies:

Mrs. Henderson Presents
The Science of Sleep
Fight Club
Everything is Illuminated

Television:

I don't have a TV. When I do try to watch shows that I like, I find myself increasingly disgusted by the advertizing injected into the gaps of otherwise good programming.

I love to read
some personal favorites include:
Chariots of the Gods
The Plague
Les Miserables
The Picture of Dorian Gray
How to Overthrow the Government
Lies and the Lying Liars who Tell Them

Should we commemorate a day that led to a senseless war?

I'm not saying we shouldn't. I'm saying that tomorrow represents a day that led to such blind support of our president that we as a country allowed our leaders to send us to a war we never should have...

frustrated apathy

I'm in a rut, as they say. I've noticed myself substituting false enthusiasm as a pathetic replacement for the genuine happiness I felt only weeks ago. I've isolated pattens that need to be broken, wh...

Exclusions

Even though we are all ultimately alone, trapped in our minds by the very fact that you can never actually let anyone into this experience you like to call your life, it's still a shock sometimes to w...

On the subject of innocence

Does it ever seem to you that innocence and ignorance are directly correlated? Statistical principle: Correlation does not imply causation. I know this because it was drilled into my head for a solid ...

Existence Preceeds Essence

The first time I read anything by Jean-Paul Sartre involved the title of this blog. I expanded on this theory a little in Mr. Clazie's AP Lit, and it led to a debate the lasted for half the class peri...
