Lyndsay Sands, and Maryjanice Davidson, Charlaine Harris. Jane Lindskolds Firekepper series, Robin Hobbs Assasin, Fool & Shaman series, Harry Potter, What do you say to a naked elf? not sure of the author but how can you not read a book one of the reviews called it "J.R. Tolkien on crack." There are plenty others just escaping me at the moment.
