LO VED.O.B.: March 29, 1987Smooth, who is also known as Michael-Jamal Spencer was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He became attracted to music at the age of two when he and his mother would be sitting in the car singing Keith Sweat Make It Last Forever. Ever since then; Smooth has made it a priority that music/singing became and would be his career. At the age of five Smooth and his mother moved to Dover, Delaware. This is where he discovered on his own that he could really sing while singing in his grandfathers church.
On July 1, 1995 his mother got married and they moved to Baltimore, Maryland. While living there he joined the Maryland State Boys Choir for about a year and made sure that he attended in every school choir. At the age of fifteen he attended Baltimore School for the Arts for a year he then moved back home to Milwaukee, WI to finish his high school years.
During this time period he has been introduced to a local record company by a good friend, Steve Jenkins aka DTM, called Trio Records/Rebel Life Entertainment. He began working with this company by making a school CD with his school Juneau Business High School. After the CD project was completed, he was approached by the top manager (Victor Barnett) who asked if he would like to work with this company as a solo artist. When Smooth agreed to join the company, Victor made sure that he would express his talented as much as he could. Smooth was set to do shows at the Garfield Avenues Festival, the Dedication to Martin Luther King program, the African American Festivals(on the Summer Fest grounds)...and surprisingly this past summer he opened up for Slick Rick at Afro Fest and performed at a Judges Convention...Victor also has plans for him to perform on June Tenth, and few upcoming events.
Smooth number one single is called Changed Man. He is now working on a new single called "Amazing" and is in the process of droping his album that is called "Just the Beginning." His plan is to catch all ages in his audience and to let everyone know that you dont have to be a certain age to tell an untold story. Please be looking out 4 the hottest and the most relaxing album yet in Milwaukee called "Just The Beginning" and please be lookin out for a group that SMOOTH is apart of;they call themselves INTREGUE....they will be dropping a 2 song demo real soon...there songs "Tired and That Girl A Pro".....But if ya don't mind I would like 2 give some shout outs!!!
First:Let me give a shout out 2 the woman of my life....the woman that made it happen 4 me since day 1 on March 29th 1987....MY MOTHER...Mom thank u so much 4 stayin' with me through thick and thin.I truelly appreciate the fact that u never gave up on me and always believed in me.
