18th March 2007. Australian Grand Prix, Melbourne.
Mclaren get both drivers on the podium. After a brilliant start by Lewis Hamilton. Fernando Alonso gains a place back on the second pit stop. Mclaren get a 2-3. More importantly Lewis gets a podium on his debut!!
8th April 2007. Malaysian Grand prix, Sepang.
1-2!! ONE-BLOODY-TWO!!! Another great start from both drivers to get in front of the dirty, red scum. Fernando finishes 17.5 seconds in front of Lewis who held back the Ferrari's for the entire race. Brilliant and perfect.15th April 2007, Bahrain Grand Prix, Manama. Lewis gets another fantastic podium (2nd), Fernando has a bad race and seems to struggle with the balance of his MP4-22 from Friday onwards. Oddly enough both Macca drivers seemed to fly on the harder compound tyres in the final stint of the race. Something which they may be able to exploit in the future. Fernando is joined by Lewis and Kimi Raikkonen (traitor) in leading the driver's championship. Hell of an achievement for a Rookie. Ferrari close the gap to McLaren to just 5 points (boooooo!)
13th May 2007, Spanish Grand Prix, Barcelona. Both of our boys on the podium again! A girl could get used to this. We started in 2 and 4, Lewis took Raikkonen at the first corner while Fernando was busy trying to get around the outside of Massa and getting punted off-track!! Bold move, it'd have been brilliant had he pulled it off, so i don't blame him for trying - nor Massa for defending. Lewis and Kimi both passed Fernando during his off-track excursion. A few laps later the curse of Raikkonen kicked in again as electrical problems took hold of his Ferrari. Being a Macca fan the curse of Raikkonen is something that I'm used to seeing!! There were a couple of other incidents, Massa's car on fire in the pits, Nick Heidfeld doing a lap with his right-front unattached after losing a nut in the pits. As expected the changes to the track didn't encourage overtaking at all, but it was ok for Spain (I usually find this GP boring). Also kudos to DC for his 5th finish and Sato for Super Noodle's first ever points. We finish with Lewis 2nd and Fernando 3rd. Mostly importanly Lewis Hamilton is leading the driver's championship and is the youngest driver ever to do so (taking the title from one Bruce McLaren)! Monaco? Bring it ON!
27th May 2007, Monaco Grand Prix, Monte Carlo. IT'S ANOTHER 1-2!!!!! We absolutely dominated the race. Alonso was class and Lewis was hot on his tail. Second 1-2 of the season and 5 podiums in 5 races for Lewis. It's enough to make a brit feel proud. I was kinda dissapointed that Uncle Ron didn't let the boys race in the last stint, still, played it safe and they brought both cars home at the top. Well done team!!!
