Plone were formed in Birmingham in 1996.The group's first release was "Press a Key", a 7 inch single on the Wurlitzer Jukebox label.The "Plock EP" was released in 1998 and debut album "For Beginner Piano" in 1999 on Warp Records. Plone also featured on the WAP100 complilation and Warp 10+3 remix album.The band split up shortly after completing the second album in 2001. This untitled album has never been released. Since 2001 the three members have been involved in new projects.Michael Johnston is now a solo artist who performs and releases records as "Mike In Mono".Billy Bainbridge toured with Broadcast for a while and is now a member of "Seeland" along with Tim Felton, former guitarist with Broadcast.Mark Cancellara DJ's with Birmingham's Silver Dollar Sound System This profile was edited with The CricketSoda Myspace Editor
