Jeff Stelling is the anchor for Gillette Soccer Saturday, the landmark football show that stretches across six hours of the game's busiest day with an unbeatable mix of features, reports, informed studio opinion, lively banter and the fastest results service anywhere.Jeff directs the often lively, entertaining thoughts of his regular panel of experts including, amongst others, ex-pros such as Rodney Marsh, George Best, and Frank McLintock. Panelists discuss the big football issues of the day and watch in-coming 'feeds' of the afternoon's big live games. The chemistry between the guests underpins the show, making it as entertaining as it is informative. Jeff also presents midweek Soccer Specials across the Sky Sports channels where other familiar faces such Tony Cottee and Steve Claridge have covered matches in the ground breaking Soccer Saturday style.Jeff is well known to Sky Sports viewers. In the past decade he has presented a range of live sport including; snooker, darts, greyhound racing and Sky Sports' summer horse-racing programme, The Winning Post. His media career began nearly twenty years ago as a news reporter at his local paper, the Hartlepool Mail. A move to Radio Tees led to the role of reporter on local club Middlesbrough and the beginning of a radio career that took Jeff to two Olympic Games in Los Angeles (1984) and Seoul (1988). After joining TV AM as a member of the sports team in 1988, he moved to BSB in 1990 where he presented 'Sports Desk'. After the merger between Sky and BSB, Jeff briefly worked as a freelancer before joining Channel 4, then returning to Sky in 1992.Sport also dominates Jeff's life away from Sky, where he owns a share of a racehorse. On his rare spare weekends he can also be found following the fortunes of Hartlepool United.
