Running through the streets...doing things...

About Me

I'm a full-time mom of Daphne and James, and wife of Pete. Just trying to figure out how to do that right now!

To my former high school students: please check out my blog entitled "To my former students."

My Interests

Family, biology, theatre, art, the ocean, singing, changing diapers, being meticulous with money (okay, cheap), fresh air and exercise!

I'd like to meet:

Old friends, Pete as a kid :)

Music:

Harry Connick Jr, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, The Beatles, classical, showtunes, jazz standards, my husband playing trombone or piano!

Movies:

Pride and Prejudice (the definitive 1995 BBC version), West Side Story, Singing in the Rain, Easter Parade, The Sound of Music, Waiting for Guffman, 007 (Sean Connery only, please) LOTR, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Bridget Jones's Diary, and The Joy Luck Club are a few that come to mind.

Television:

Off, preferably.

Books:

I enjoy non-fiction and classic literature. In other words, when I pick up a book, I want to learn something, or be assured of good prose. And the B-i-b-l-e when it doesn't make me too mad or confused.

Heroes:

Husband, Mom

Two Resolutions

Make your bed, young lady!

As a kid, I always pondered the point of making one's bed.  Unless company is coming over, I thought, no one's going to see it except you and maybe your family members.  Plus, you could alwa...

First time in recorded history

My dad is always inventing board games, mind-puzzles, and the like.  He is quite creative and brilliant in this regard, actually.  Yesterday, he showed me his most recent creation.  Wit...

The most boring blog ever written, so beware!

Oh no!  You didn't heed my warning!  Now you're in for it. Grocery and retail stores have, believe it or not, become too efficient.  How so, you ask?  Impossible, you scoff? ...

To my former students

Your former teacher on myspace?!?! Pretty creepy...  Don't worry, though, I'm not here to judge. It's great to see what you're all up to these days! I love being a mom, but I do miss teaching a...
