About Me

♥ i'm Fran, i'm a sophomore at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio. i love it here even though we're a bunch of dirty hippies. i've learned more about myself since i've gotten here than i ever would have imagined. i play on the varsity women's basketball team (go yeo) and in the spring i play for our women's rugby team (yeah rhinos).
Things you probably don't know about me:
♥I was born on the south side of Chicago, so I'm a White Sox fan by birth. We lived in The Shoreland, which was an old hotel built in the early 1900's and then they renovated it in 1977 and now it's part of the University of Chicago dorm system. But they're actually selling it now to make luxury condos. It's really depressing.
♥ I miss my travel basketball team. My classics are amazing.
♥I had ridiculously large arm muscles at the beginning of my senior year, thanks to my trainer that i worked with all summer. i no longer have ridiculously large arm muscles cause i didn't lift during the year, and i feel that i've disgraced my trainer. sorry jelani :( haha.
♥I love my cousins more than anything in the entire world. I only get to spend one week out of the entire year with them but it is always, without exception, the happiest week of my year.
♥ I'm in Ohio but my home is in New York and my heart is in North Carolina.
♥I have the best friends in the world. My core. Without these two, I don't know where I would be. Thank you.

My Interests

here's what i like

-basketball. it's pretty much my life.
-my core. they're everything i could ever need.
-music. couldn't live without it. making it, listening to it, anything.
-God. I'm not a very good Christian, but i believe.
-Oberlin. I think I'm in love.
-food. i'm big on the whole eating thing.
-adventures with friends
-soccer. i'm a goalie mainly because i love diving.
-smirnoff. mikes.
-garlic bread. even if it means making it for my friends on a friday night :)
-laughing
-coffeehouses. but not coffee. ironic?
-my family. i know, i'm a dork.
-going to the beach. and by "the beach", i mean Caswell Beach, North Carolina. I've gone there every summer of my life and love it more than anything.
-french fries. enough said.
-my iPod. don't know how i ever lived without one.
-making people laugh
-my back row of altos. we make chorale fun.
-crying at movies
-being tan. i'm usually the least tan person, but i love it when i am. not enough so to actually go tanning, though.
-a good book.
-working with disabled kids. i want to go into elementary special ed, because i find nothing more rewarding than the smiles on their faces.
-making the most out of life. i'm not sure i know how, but i try my best.

here's what i could do without

-ignorant people. they're the worst.
-zucchini. ew.
-greek plays. AP english lit turned me off to them.
-coaches who blame everything on their players
-teachers who have no control over their class (ehem.)
-car dealership commercials.
-people who don't give credit where credit is due.
-the fact that i take everything for granted.
