Diversified Beats Interview
Why are you called Diversified Beats?
Well it all goes back to early 2000s, before we had even created a name for ourselves. Alot of people were saying that they couldnt pin point a style on us. They were constantly saying that we were diverse in many ways. Our music relates to several different cultures and music types all around the world. So one day one of our closest friends shouted out "Man yall boys are Diversified." Thats where Diversified Beats came from!

Many people in the industry are surprised that your style of music has so many different sounds in it. Your way of music production is unlike the usual style of repetitive 8 bar chorus 16 bar verse Hip-Hop track. Please explain your process to the public?
I dont really have a process I just make what ever I feel in my mind. If a melody comes to me I drop it on the keyboard and build off that. Works the same for a drum pattern. I can do the usual 16 bar loop shit, but usually I choose to take it up a notch and take my music to a whole different level. How do you define making a HIT track in the fast increasing industry of today?
The hook and the beat are definetly the most important. You..ve just gotta have a creative surrounding. Like me, I come up with the beat instantly because it..s just my little gift that I have..-coming up with hooks should be the artist creativity along the lines with the beat. The beats I don..t have a hard time with. A lot of people, they really have a hard time with that. When I see people have a hard time, I don..t understand why. But God don..t bless everybody with the same gifts. What kind of music did you listen to while you were growing up?
Definitely Hip-Hop. All hip-hop because that..s all I had. I liked people from 2pac, Jay-z, Big, and alot of my southern creativity I had to say growing up listening to alot of guerilla maab. Most people in the south know who they are but alot of people up north dont. But all around I liked everything from back in the day. I was just so young and just so into it that it didn..t really matter. It wasn..t all political like how it is now. Did you grow up having both of your parents?
I was with my mother more than anyone. She was my everything. Dad wasnt around much, he was too busy with other things I guess. Alot of heartache and pain in my life just from that one little missing piece. Sort of feel like kayne at times! Everything was cool though. What kind of equipment did you use when you started producing and what do you use these days?
Ahh man. Straight up plain fruity loops3.1 making 2track hitz! lol Now its all about professionality! You have to have that top quality sound to be able to produce those superproducer beats. I use all triton extreme/studio, rolandx8, and motif rack sounds. Of course a few vinyl samples from here and there. You have to have everything from everywhere to create that one original sound of your own! Are there certain instruments/sounds that you really like to use in your music?
Well yes. I love my custom 808 kicks and basses! I got that low freq bass that carries and carries for a mile! Other than that I like a good piano and nice Orch hits! Are all your beats original or do they have samples in them?
Yes all my beats are original made from complete scratch. Because if your like that, then nobody will ever know how you will come with a beat. If you mess with samples you can pretty much know how the beat is going to turn out before you even finish. Doing everything from scratch keeps me ahead of the game because samples are sometimes almost impossible to clear. If you depend on samples, then it will slow your process down just trying to find a good record for that. What projects do you have in the works right now?
Aww man, I think have about 19 projects im working on right now. First one I will mention is the mixtape produced by Diversified Beats hosted by DJ Ryno from houston. Will be several features on that from all over the nation. Be on the lookout for that forsure. Second is the project almost complete for Mista KT from Dirty 3rd Records from Austin, Tx. It will be complete soon...... Do you feel like you..ll sit back and enjoy what you..ve earned in the near future?
Never! I do music because I have a passion for it! It doesnt matter to me about the money. Well money is always good dont get me wrong but if you get some creative people in the room, the last thing on their mind is money! Believe that people! Well we have to end this interview. Any last words?
Thanks for your time G-Money, I want to thank everyone for their support in this industry.
