I am here for Friends

About Me

There's a lot to tell...but I won't bore you with the gory details. The basics are: Graduated college in 2004 with a degree in Economics, which I'll never use; left that August for a stint in Vietnam teaching English, had a FABULOUS time; moved to Korea in April 2006 and taught school in Seoul until October 2007. THEN I went to Dublin, Ireland for a few months, but it was really hard to get a working visa as an American, so just before Christmas I came home to good ol' Machias, Maine. Now I'm working here and saving money until I can return to Ireland and try again! Hit me up if you want to know more! ;o)

My Interests

good friends, good drinks, good music, and great times

I'd like to meet:

Old friends (no matter how long ago, it's all good) and new friends (I don't bite--unless you deserve it...)

Music:

so so many...Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Matchbox 20 (I know, I know), The Killers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Cure, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Verve, Velvet Revolver, Muse, Maroon 5, Green Day, Barenaked Ladies, Dave Matthews, Linkin Park, Everclear, Dashboard Confessional, Chevelle, Bright Eyes, Ryan Adam, The Faint, Ocean Colour Scene, Ramones, Jimmy Buffett, Simon & Garfunkel, Smashing Pumpkins, Counting Crows, Simple Plan (come on, they're cute), Nirvana, Violent Femmes, Coldplay, Oasis, White Stripes, Three Doors Down, Blind Melon, Alabama (yes, I do like some country)...and a million more that I can't think of right now.

Movies:

Go, American Beauty, LOTR, Harry Potter, 40-Year-Old Virgin, Finding Nemo, Being John Malkovich, Godfather, Empire of the Sun, Royal Tenenbaums, Pride & Prejudice, Exorcist, Cube Zero, The Shining, American Psycho, Top Gun, About A Boy, 50 First Dates, Big Lebowski, Blow, Big Fish, Love Actually, Spun, Star Wars (all of 'em), What About Bob, Lost in Translation, Requiem for a Dream, Scent of Green Papaya, Love Song for Bobby Long, Saw I-III (yeah, I'm morbid like that), The Lake House...it's really late and my brain's not working, but there are tons more...hehe this was so funny I had to post it:
The Movie Of Your Life Is A Black Comedy
In your life, things are so twisted that you just have to laugh.
You may end up insane, but you'll have fun on the way to the asylum.

Your best movie matches: Being John Malkovich, The Royal Tenenbaums, American Psycho If Your Life Was a Movie, What Genre Would It Be?

Television:

right now I'm into Sopranos, Lost, and the 4400. But I also like Sex & the City, Friends, Simpsons...you know, all the good shows.

Books:

Where the Red Fern Grows, The Last Time I Wore a Dress, Economic Hit Man, the Harry Potter series, Kite Runner, DaVinci Code and Shogun are my latest favorite reads...but again there are lots more that are really good as well. Oh, and anything by Stephen King or Jack Kerouac.

Heroes:

The most hardworking and successful person on this earth is my mother. I wish I could find a way to thank her for everything she's overcome and the sacrifices she's made for our family.
