I am learning that I am you, as you have become me. Though I occupy one body and one existence, and you the same, we share a new soul, wrought with all of the beauty and decay of our singular souls past. We are gardeners. We eat the same fruit. I have sewn poor seed, I have neglected to tend the garden. These are the times when our garden has left us wanting, but we did not hunger, for the void was muddied by laughter and the shine of newness. Not to call this joy anything other than what it is, a miracle, but perhaps we have misplaced it. Whereas it was designed to bring levity to the struggle of strengthening, we have used it to lighten the disappointment of work forgotten. I apologize. I am learning that I am you, that I can only appreciate your potential by growing it, which is to say, growing myself, which is to say, ourself.
