About Me

I'm director of the Institute of Newspaper Technology, a training program for newspaper designers and publishers located on campus at The University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee.I speak approximately 100 days on the road each year. In my travels I get to meet a lot of interesting people. Just this week, I've had dinner with a tv celebrity in Canada, spent two hours visiting with AT&T's European Director, sat by the 18th hole of the Doral Country Club with some of the newspaper industry's publishers and spent some great hours with designers, speaking on topics like Photoshop, InDesign, New Technology and more.I keep kicking myself for not staying in touch with all these incredible people I meet. This is my effort to start keeping in touch. I'm glad you stopped by.

My Interests

Honestly, my favorite thing is meeting new people and getting to know them. I love the beach & sun, but also find myself falling in love with just about every town I speak in. With the possible exception of Roswell, New Mexico, of course. When I'm in your area, please don't serve me seafood. That's one thing I don't love!

I'd like to meet:

Hmmmm, I don't think there's enough room here for my list.

Music:

Bluegrass, Rock, Country. Pretty much everything. WDVX is my favorite radio station. You can hear it live online at www.wdvx.com. They do a fun live show every day from downtown Knoxville (noon, eastern time) called the Blue Plate Special.

Movies:

Election, Elizabethtown, Hoosiers, Saved, Office Space, In Good Company, Everybody's All American, The Others, Fargo

Television:

24, Lost, Desperate Housewives, Seinfield, Friends, Dead Like Me, Six Feet Under. Did I mention 24?

Books:

A Separate Peace, Anything by John Grisham, Forgiveness: An Invitation to Freedom

Heroes:

Too many to mention here
