Lizz's Story..some of you Newmarketians may know me. my name's Lizz Carr. i'm in gr. 12 and i go to sacred heart.
when i was seven, my grandmother died of cancer and ever since i've wanted to make a difference. but seeing as i'm a huge procrastinator and at the age of seven i couldn't even spell procrastinator, i've decided now is as good a time as ever.
many of you know Rob Dyer, skate4cancer 's founder. at first, i couldn't believe what he was doing. what would posess an average, everyday kid like rob to skate across north america? a good cause, that's what.
Rob's strength and determination has inspired me to make a difference.
on june 9th , myself and Amy Quan , shaved our heads for cancer.

it all started when i first heard about amy shaving her head and Ash and I thought, hey, what a better time to do it then now? let's make this into something big.
we did this to help raise awareness about the disease and let everyone know that you can make a difference.
all together, amy and i have raised almost $3000 dollars, which is well over our goal of $1000.
i'm also having a ska show on the first wekend in july. it should be at the optimist club in newmarket, so everyone's welcome to come to that. all the proceeds from that show will aslo be going towards Canadian Cancer research.
every little bit makes a difference.
