With plenty of projects and objectives in mind but with arts/music at the core of all of it.It all started 4 years ago(Already!) when I started a french urban magazine in Montreal (Canada)called Influence Magazine (I was 23 when I started out, which is pretty young to start as an EDITOR). At that time my dream was to change the perception people in this part of the world had of urban music. Back then, and still today, Montreal and Quebec's urban scene was still struggling to come out of the underground and I felt we needed to give it a more professional and glamorous look. 4 years later we're at our 25th issue interviewing some of todays biggest stars on the way. To name a few, P.Diddy, Nas, G-Unit, Linking Park, Cypress Hill, IAM, K-OS,Shaggy, Sean Paul,Ghost Face and others. and we've been nominated twice as best urban magazine in Canada.All of that recognition is cool, but the thruth is that as an independant magazine, conditions to succeed with an urban magazine (French on top of that) are pretty slim not to say impossible if you don't have any backing from major corporations, and that even though we've made giant leap since the beginning of our journey.With demands for a wider musical coverage growing every day, we had no choice to open up to all musical genres. This upcoming june will mark the beginning of a new era for Influence as wew will cover everything from Rock to Hip Hop and most probabably becoming the biggest french magazine in North America.Right about now, I'm preparing that special edition which is set to be in store on June 20th. We're also preparing a huge party at one of montreal'S classiest venue Club 1234 De La Montagne on June 19th to start off the always crazy F-1 Grand Prix week that is the biggest week for tourists in Montreal.So whether you're from montreal or anywhere in the world I invite you on June 19th at my event.
