The singular sound of Blackearth, polished, rough and ready, finds rap and hip-hop blended with doses of dancehall and every other pungent flavor of reggae. He developed this style from his father who was born and raised in the Virgin Islands who introduced his son to the melodic and rhythmic sounds of the West Indies. Born in Trenton, New Jersey, Blackearth has overcome many obstacles in his life (open heart surgery, spinal fusion, ruptured appendix, and a hernia operation) which have contributed to his powerful and personal songs. As a young child he realized he had the gift of rhyme and this coupled with his passion for rap, led to numerous mixtapes which he made for fellow classmates at school. Ever since, Blackearth has stayed on his grind, and steadily developed into a true multidimensional artist. The result is a beautiful brand of poetry - a powerful new blend of street sounds and party music. As a solo artist and member of the hip-hop group Banned 4 Life (BFL), Blackearth is an astounding lyricist who has created his own edgy but expressive underground vernacular.
