The Diamond Mine came about though a discussion between the founders, about how many records they want to sell. You could say that the outcome is tens of millions which is a diamond rating whereas one million is platinum and five hundred thousand is a gold rating. Brett Fields "Born E" grew up in Mt. Vernon and has been producing hip hop tracks an writing songs since 1990. Clyde Johnson "Mr. Keyez" also grew up in and played keyboards in various churches in Mt. Vernon. Robert Santiago"Bobby Backwood" the youngest of the founders is an MC and hip hop producer who also grew up in Mt. Vernon. Khaaliq "Kevin Pyatt" is also native to Mt. Vernon, an MC and a Producer. The Sum of the Four founders equal the same goals and ambition to make history in the music industry selling tracks and eventually records nation wide. Even though The Diamond Mine is only one year old the founders have been friends, classmates and partners for over fifteen years and have developed a respect for eachother.
