KGB has been your musical salvation since 1999.
Formed on the campus of Valparaiso University (after immigrating from Russia by stowing away in one of Darby Crash's amps following a Germs show in Red Square), KGB promptly won second place in VU's 2000 Battle of the Bands despite only having one practice. After their grand entrance into the Chicago/Northwest Indiana hardcore scene, KGB became a regular at local hardcore shows, often opening for Right Arm Death Threat. Their first album, "The Early Years - '76-'80," was released soon thereafter on 668 Records. In 2001, lead singer Boris Banger was arrested in Australia for assault with a guitar following a show with local favorites Martha's Cookies. While details of the incident are still unclear, Boris' subsequent incarceration put the band on hiatus for the past four years. However, the band is now back in the Chicagoland area and plotting its triumphant return to a punk landscape that can best be described as stagnant. Those who have seen KGB live know that they're our musical salvation. Those who haven't might as well whither and die.
When they're not changing the face of music, the members of KGB enjoy watching "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," listening to the Distorted View podcast, brewing and drinking beer, reading books your stupid ass wouldn't understand, and knitting.
