About Me

:)Figital or Conor Ryan as he is better known to his Mum has been an avid lover of music since an immersion in the sounds of the all the greats from a young age. He likes to thank hs mother for this education who has built up a vinyl collection from the 60's onwards covering all the big names and indeed her collection could be considered a whos who of 20th C rock, blues, punk, jazz and motown to name a few! From an early age he explored this library of sounds and was inspired to take up music himself. Starting with a lowly recorder at age 11 to master such classics as Silent Night, Clair de Lune and the Theme from the Moomins! He decided to 'up his game' then at 13 years old, taking classical guitar lessons initially and then moving to a teacher, Scott Maher from a Dublin Beatle's tribute band who specialised in rock. He teamed up with schoolmate Robert Bourke and formed Letherhead at 16 and they played for a short time around Dublin. With the explosion of dance music in the early 90's Conor was to take a huge interest in all kinds of electronic music and decided to put the guitar in the attic, began scouring the record shops for these new and exciting sounds and purchased a battered set of Technics 1200s. Making his debut appearance at Dublin's legendary Temple of Sound Club, and then at nights run in The Ormonde Print Works and Columbia Mills he banged out everything from Techno, house, garage, progressive/tech house to trip hop.He soon realised that he had a calling towards producing his own music and in 1996 took the first steps in building his own studio with the purchase of his first sampler and synthesizer. After getting somewhat to grips with music technology he decided that the next step was to improve on his technical knowledge and studied Sound Engineering at Pulse College Dublin, reinforced with an Open University course in music technology.Figital has a love of music technology with a soft spot for all things synthish but also likes to integrate acoustic elements such as guitar, bass guitar and drums having for the past 3 years been studying Jazz drumming with respected Jazz player Sean Carpio.Summer '06 saw work begin on construction of a new home studio build which was completed in March this '07. Currently he has been busy working on new music with new releases expected later in the year. Watch this myspace! ..... :)
